It's a small sample but SK is averaging 11.9 points on 50% FG, 48% 3pt, 64.8 TS% and 18.8 PER.

Btw, Kilpatrick went undrafted in 2014.

he's got some ways to go before he's 100% from his injury. We've seen flashes of what he can do but haven't seen him go 100% yet

He is 20 years old and rail thin still. It usually takes bigs 3-4 years to be strong enough to bang with NBA centers and power forwards. He is essentially a boy playing with men.

He has played well in spurts and has shown a lot of promise as a defender playing the passing lanes and weak side shot blocking. Some guys his size or bigger never get the timing to be good defenders. Henry Sims is a good example of that. Sims has a huge wingspan but he doesnt block alot of shots because he cant time his jump to when a player releases their shot.

he needs to get bigger, healthy, and adjust to the physicality of the NBA. his screens are non exsistant, he seems hesitant to make contact. he needs to find his rythm other then catch and shooter jumpers. he is still a work in progress

Here's the contract details.

Nets guard Sean Kilpatrick signed a three-year contract that is fully guaranteed for the rest of this season and next season, his agent, Zach Kurtin, told ESPN.com. The rest of this season is prorated at $221,000 -- more than the minimum. Kilpatrick will get a fully guaranteed $980,000 minimum salary in 2016-17 and has a non-guarantee of $1.05 million in 2017-18 which kicks in fully if he's not waived by June 30, 2017.

Good deal for us unless Kilpatrick transforms into a total scrub from this point on. But at the same time, the deal is small enough that Kilpatrick shouldn't lose motivation to earn a bigger contract.

There are plenty of scrubs who make way more than him. His contract is a drop in the bucket and easily tradeable if need be.

No risk at all.

minimum salary. same as a cap hold for a roster spot for a kid showing promise

great deal

its a good deal even if he does become a big scrub. its for the minimum moving forward. if we cut him, we would still be charged the minimum for the roster spot against the cap

True but I was trying to say that if he becomes bad enough (or locker room issues) that you have waive him, then it becomes a small inconvenience. Bargnani was waived this season despite only making vet min. Larkin, Ellington and TRob make around vet min or little more but I can't wait till they're far away from this roster (at least Larkin, TRob's not that awful).

But I'm pretty happy with this deal, so I'm on your side lol. I think it's very low risk and has a high chance of being a bargain, with the way he has been playing.

I wasn't disagreeing with you either. I just think with the cap going up, you'd have to be really bad not to be a bargain. If he keeps up his play anywhere close to his current productuon, it's an absolute steal of a talent-per-dollar contract.
