Imagine when we add a defensive minded center

Yup the only problem is rebounding but Brook doesn't rebound anyway.

Small. Sample. Size. Also you ignore that overtime periods can often involve very sloppy basketball since teams are fatigued and have less lift in their shots.

One thing I will say generally - Trevor Booker is a really, really bad rebounder, and Lopez is probably better.

While I don't disagree, I don't think it's fair to judge how well things would go based on the last few minutes of play. There's no way we could play this well over 48 minutes.

They are leaving out there on the court. Hope they can pull out the W and have the crowd go home happy.

Sure he does. He boxes out, thereby increasing the success of our rebounding efforts.

Booker doesn't even box out. He always loses his man and has stone hands.

Levert constantly gets a hand on the ball from some of the league's best lead guards/forwards. He's done it to Melo, PG13, Wall and I'm sure others as well.

Gortat's D is great for Nets.
Most NBA stats aren't credible. At most times the people who interprets those data are biased, or the data themselves are flawed. Basketball is just too complicated with so many uncontrollable variables.

This echo chamber of a community has really decided Lopez is a Bargninai-level defensive liability, despite the complete absence of statistical proof.

I even hear the narrative that we were "so much better defensively when Lopez was hurt in 13-14." This can be easily discredited by noting that our team defensive rating was actually better with Lopez in 12-13, but facts are an inconvenience when you have a narrative to push.

I have to admit I do like the aggressiveness (on both ends) the team has shown to push it to this point. These kind of games are part of the process to get better. In the future these types of games we will automatically know Brooklyn will close out based on the character building of this team. Regardless of the outcome it's been a good game. I want that more consistently.

Quick foot, quick hand, and length.

Don't think it's a controversial statement at all. Booker is constantly losing his man, which is probably the most important aspect of rebounding - especially if a player isn't elite at grabbing contested boards.

We've seen that countless times tonight.

Of course Foye is in the center of that!
