Nets Pick Watch Thread (PHI, PHX, DAL, HOU)

Post#1 » by Paradise » Mon Jul 17, 2023 3:39 pm

With Embiid already hinting at the possibility at leaving Philly one day and Phoenix having zero control of their picks until 2031. This thread is needed.

Let’s see how well this ages or not.

2025 first round draft pick from Phoenix
Phoenix's 2025 1st round pick to Brooklyn [Brooklyn-Indiana-Milwaukee-Phoenix, 2/9/2023]

2025 second round draft pick from Miami
Miami's 2025 2nd round pick to Indiana protected for selections 38-60 or to Brooklyn protected for selections 31-37 (Miami's obligation to Indiana or Brooklyn will thereafter be extinguished) (via Indiana) [Indiana-Miami-Phoenix, 7/6/2019; Brooklyn-Indiana, 10/6/2021]

2027 first round draft pick from Philadelphia
At least two years after Philadelphia conveys a 1st round pick to Oklahoma City if this pick is conveyed to Oklahoma City by 2026, Philadelphia's 1st round pick to Brooklyn protected for selections 1-8 in 2027 and 1-8 in 2028; if Philadelphia has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Brooklyn by 2028, then Philadelphia will instead convey its 2028 2nd round pick to Brooklyn; Brooklyn may convey the Philadelphia pick, if conveyed to Brooklyn in 2028, to Phoenix (see Brooklyn Incoming) [Brooklyn-Philadelphia, 2/10/2022]

2027 first round draft pick from Phoenix
Phoenix's 2027 1st round pick to Brooklyn [Brooklyn-Indiana-Milwaukee-Phoenix, 2/9/2023]

2027 second round draft pick from Dallas
Dallas' 2027 2nd round pick to Brooklyn [Brooklyn-Dallas, 2/6/2023]

2028 first round draft pick from Phoenix (swap, Brooklyn or Philadelphia outgoing)
Brooklyn has the right to swap its 2028 1st round pick or, if conveyed to Brooklyn, Philadelphia's 2028 1st round pick for Phoenix's 2028 1st round pick [Brooklyn-Indiana-Milwaukee-Phoenix, 2/9/2023]

2028 second round draft pick from Milwaukee
Milwaukee's 2028 2nd round pick to Brooklyn [Brooklyn-Indiana-Milwaukee-Phoenix, 2/9/2023]

2029 first round draft pick from Dallas
Dallas' 2029 1st round pick to Brooklyn [Brooklyn-Dallas, 2/6/2023]

2029 first round draft pick from Phoenix
Phoenix's 2029 1st round pick to Brooklyn [Brooklyn-Indiana-Milwaukee-Phoenix, 2/9/2023]

2029 second round draft pick from Dallas
Dallas' 2029 2nd round pick to Brooklyn [Brooklyn-Dallas, 2/6/2023]

2029 second round draft pick from Milwaukee
Milwaukee's 2029 2nd round pick to Brooklyn [Brooklyn-Indiana-Milwaukee-Phoenix, 2/9/2023]

I think it might be a little too early for this

This is a pretty interesting article ranking the future value of all of the traded FRPs leaguewide.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/ranking-all-56-traded-future-nba-first-round-picks-kevin-durant-kyrie-irving-trades-shake-up-list/

They have 4 of the picks the Nets own in the top 10:

#1 - Phoenix 2029
#3 - Dallas 2029
#5 - Phoenix 2027
#6 - Phoenix 2028

They have the Philly pick at #20 and Phoenix 2025 at #34, and the picks the nets owe to Houston at #50 (2025), #39 (2027), #26 (2024), #21 (2026).

Hey, speaking of which, let's try to answer this question: which team has the best haul of incoming draft picks? The Nets, Thunder, Jazz and Spurs are our candidates. Together, they own 35 of the 56 picks listed here. Here are the rankings of all of the picks each of them hold off of this list:

TEAM PICK RANKINGS
Nets 34, 20, 6, 5, 3, 1

Jazz 51, 49, 38, 35, 29, 28, 22, 19, 13, 12

Thunder 46, 44, 41, 40, 27, 25, 23, 17, 15, 11, 8

Spurs 54, 37, 30, 24, 18, 14, 10, 4

I think people are sleeping on that '25 Suns picks. Maybe everything works out for them, but we've seen first hand how things can blow up sooner than expected.

Sixers already imploding due to Harden/Morey fiasco

PHX is one injury away from imploding as well

Dallas will burn when Kyrie is done with them

yea but that's now, we have none of those picks this year. Those teams can look totally different next season and beyond

Yeah, rebuilding once Embiid leaves. Vegas has us, Knicks and Thunder as possible destinations. Embiid is a UFA in 2026-2027.

As great as Embiid is, I kinda don't want him tbh. I mean if we can sign him in FA then yea sure but giving up assets for him, which will be a whole lot of assets, nah I'm good.

Same.

Marks should hold out for a guy like Doncic, Mitchell, Morant, Garland, or even Zion if we make a huge splashy move.

Embiid is an injury prone clown and a playoff failure.

No trade thread on this board.

Want more draft picks?
Ready for a rebuild and tank for a lottery pick?

Wiggins who is not old or injured but is not playing well. He would not be overpaid if he was playing like he did in 2022. And Santos a borderline NBA level guard and 4 unprotected 1st round picks for:

Bridges and DayRon Sharpe. I don’t know anything about Sharpe except that he is big and is putting up good per minute rebounds and blocks. Warriors have 3 undersized centers and mixing a truly big man into that group would make me happy.

Warriors are failing at defense and Bridges could help.

Some of the 4 unprotected 1st round picks would be after Curry, Klay, Draymond and CP3 are retired and could be lottery picks.

Just want to get Curry one more championship to make the Warriors Dynasty equal to the 1980s Laker Dynasty and better than the Spurs dynasty and I am willing to sacrifice the future.

But would Nets fans be willing to postpone their return to being contenders for a better shot at a championship further out in time?

76ers tank Job and draft pick collection got them Embiid but did not get them a championship.

Another knee operation for embiid. ive knocked the philly pick, but in his age 32/33 season pick #9-20 seems firmly in play.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
