He's a lot bouncier than I thought too. Looks like a fun bench player to have.

If he continued this downward slide while still here, he might not have had any value outside of salary ballast by the time that star trade is on the table. And now his knee is problematic again - he was just ruled out against Boston today.
mad teams were interested in grimes including the hawks who we could've gotten dejounte murray for. he's having a bad season but his archetype is highly valued. everyone wants a 3 and d guy. teams won't forget he started on a playoff team and that whole body of work he produced last season. that's why he had plenty of interest by the deadline even with his injuries and struggles. i dont know how you can watch garbage ass burks and fournierovich on a daily basis and think we did well on that trade. we got robbed. even evan fournier is out here looking better than bojan.
I was only speaking to the notion of wasting him in the context of a future star trade. If you were speaking in the past tense and believe that star was Murray, then I misread what you were saying.but yeah he is prob gone in that next deal. We could’ve used grimes for that star trade and held on to deuce but instead wasted Grimes on Burks and Fournier 2.0.
My contention was with the idea of Grimes being in the "next deal". If he was on the Knicks doing what he's done for DET, somehow looking even worse than he did before the deadline, I don't see him keeping anybody out of the next star trade.

grimes value by the deadline is likely the same it is now. and by the deadline we could've still gotten an all star for him (dejounte murray). like i said before, his archetype is highly touted in this league.
and anyways, i rather have grimes on one knee than watch alec burks and bojan stink it up. the trade was bad either way.
