Buzztrodamus says 3 team trade, where Knicks get Bridges, Nets get Mitchell, and Cavs get stuff and picks.

Cavs could get a good haul.
Brooklyn doesn’t lose face and we get better.

We send Randle? I would like to try to keep him.
IHart, Randle, OG, Bridges, Brunson
Vs
IHart, Randle, OG, Mitchell, Brunson (Looks great offensively, but could Mitchell be GOOD defensively)
Best chance at chip?

I think Knicks could keep Randle in this scenario

I just hope we don’t run it back but go all in while keeping the core around OG and the Villanova guys. We’re almost there - running it back is not an option and Randle won’t make any difference. He’s mostly empty stats.

Great player but I don't find SGA particularly fun to watch.

I agree with the both parts. However Chet is going to be a tonne of fun to watch. And you have to love Giddey. And Dort is a good watch. I mean, the whole team is pretty fun as well as good.

I like Chet. Couldn't care less about Giddey or Dort. This team just isn't my cup of tea.

our front office were right about wanting to trade for both PJ Washington and Gafford... also DeRozan or Brogdon

They all could have helped us immensely with all these injuries

Hartenstein / Gafford
Washington / Achiuwa (Randle)
OG Anunoby / Hart
Di Vincenzo / MB or DD
Brunson / McBride

Never really watched him but from what I see now he doesn't look any better than Brunson to me. He seems to play on cruise control mode And OKC seems a tad soft and small even though they have height at most positions. If our front court was healthy I think we'd be able to bully the hell out of them...

SGA playing hero ball on the last two possessions. Not smart.

not enough off ball motion on OKC

dallas has a formula to defend because their backline is so mobile and long they aren't afraid to get beat up front on dribble drive.
great drafting and pickup at the deadline

OKC is in trouble.

they are gonna feel like they need to matchup and play Dort 48 minutes but I actually think their problem is on offense. giddey and Dort need to play less. because I really doubt okc is going to randomly start installing off ball motion to help shai.

defensively OKC is just constantly getting killed on the glass. even when they do secure rebounds a lot of times its a 50/50 ball and they've boxed out and need a guard to fly in to secure it.

If we were fully healthy I think we'd have a decent shot at a Finals run. Agree with you, think we could bully OKC in a series and gain the psychological edge. Denver and Minny would probably be an uphill climb.

Honestly don't get this. Randle isn't perfect but he's a 24/9 guy who instantly limits how you can defend NY's offense. Julius also fits this teams style of play. He also alleviates pressure (scoring) on Brunson and makes his life much easier as you just can't focus your defense on JB with a Randle mismatch on the wing or in the post.

I'm firmly in the camp of seeing what this team can do when healthy and proceeding from there.

I have no problem with this approach…

Extend OG, IHart
Draft two 3&D studs
Sign a back up PG for 1 year (Dennis Smith Jr)?

We’d be a potential 56-60 win team with plenty of depth.

iHart / Mitch
Randle / Bogs / Draftee
OG / Hart / Draftee
DDV / McBride
Brunson / Smith Jr

We’d have Bogs and picks to use in deadline upgrades.

Yup. Leon is in a position to let the game (other clubs) come to him. He should do so. This season has generated a ton of goodwill among the faithful so there's no external pressure to go 'Blazing Saddles' and do something!.

NYs front office has only seen this all the pieces of this team together for 20 odd games. Given that I'm not sure that they internally even know, or have reached a informal consensus, on what they need.

Did the front office try for any of those guys? Brogdon didn't play after the trade deadline so would have been a disaster but any of the other 3 would have been helpful.

I absolutely think Mitchell and Brunson could coexist both very heady players ….mitchells defense this series has convinced me I officially want us to acquire him
