If we add in the rest of the draft class I would put Randolph and Beasley ahead of Gallinari as well. Its not that I don't think Gallinari is a good player or will be a great player, but I think those players are better and will be better than him. Some Knicks fans feel he'll be Dirk Nowitzki lite, but I don't see him as being that good. I don't see him as ever being a top 10 or top 15 player, though its not out of the question. If he does reach the ceiling some Knicks fans have for him, I can't see it being on this team with him playing small forward.
You keep saying they are all better, yet you still fail to go in depth as to why. All I hear is "they are better and will be better"
Yeah ok kid.
Gallo cant reach his ceiling playing SF? Thats insane, hes absolutely perfect playing SF, its what will make him a matchup nightmare most nights. 6'11" with great outside shooting, he can shoot over most SF's. Then you put him in pick and roll situations with Amare and that just going to be killer. Look at those plays where he ran pick and rolls with David Lee, hes a playmaker who makes everybody around him better. You want your PF hanging around the basket, not around the 3 point territory. Gallo is no Dirk, and in fact I dont want him to be Dirk. I want him to be Danilo Gallinari. He might never be the prolific scorer that Dirk is, but he doesnt need to be. Hes faster than Dirk, hes better in the open floor than Dirk, he doesnt really have a back to the basket game or a mid range game like Dirk, hes a better perimeter defender than Dirk and a better help defender than Dirk.
