Since Warrick is gone:

Pick #284 Atlanta Hawks Name Brian Shaw Head Coach

Image
Brian brings the Triangle offense with him, as well as his finals experience both as a player and coach. He's respected by players all around the league. He's a young coach with experience, and were happy to name him head coach of the Atlanta Hawks.

...with the 287th pick in the draft...

The Milwaukee Bucks select

AL THORNTON

Image

Not quite sure why he's still here, as he's an extremely effective player who is plugged in as the starting SF on the Wizards this upcoming season. I don't need another SF, but I couldn't pass up on the value this late in the draft. He can get to the rim with ease, pull down boards, plays good perimeter defense, and can shoot. With this selection, all of my SFs become more expendable, for anyone looking to deal.

The Los Angeles Lakers
proudly announce the hiring of:

Head Coach | Stan Van Gundy

With a dominant center (Yao Ming) surrounded by elite 3pt shooters capable of spreading the floor (Danny Granger, Kevin Martin) along with a natural pass-first pure point guard (Ricky Rubio), we feel that Coach Stan Van Gundy is the ideal basketball mind to put on our sideline and ensure we have the very best chance of winning, night in and night out. He is a proven winner who's system fits the personnel of our roster and he is all about the game and the game only, having come from a remarkable basketball family with a reputation of being gym rats. As a coach, you cannot question his expertise, desire or passion for the game. Ladies & gentleman, please welcome Stan Van Gundy...new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Utah Jazz, for their third 10th round selection, choose:

Jeremy "Soy Sauce" Lin.

We feel amazing about the value we got in the 10th round. George Karl was the coach we were eyeing all along as he has shown the ability to play grind it out ball as well as fast paced high scoring game.

We also wanted another scorer/shooter on the wing (Dunleavy Jr. with a major expiring) and a young pg to put behind Tony Parker (Lin). After not having a pick for three rounds we were able to get everything we wanted, and feel very lucky (Although it would have been nicer if McGrady dropped to us).

With George Karl as our coach we can give teams two looks:

Splitter
Love
Aminu/Turner
Gordon/Turner
Parker

or the smooth shooting group..

Bargs
Love
Dunleavy
Gordon
Parker

Neither one of these lineups will win us a championship, but we should be able to match up to different styles and definitely make it to the playoffs where we could always steal a series or maybe two.

But best of all, we have one hell of a future under the new healthy George Karl with Splitter/Love/Bargs/Aminu/Turner/Lin.. and Parker and BG both still be relatively young.
