Are you going to show a KFC dancing chicken wing gif for Shumpert's good luck charm? Or a tub of mayonnaise for Novak's good luck charm? You better

Way to show your true colors you f*ckin' scumbag! You're acting like a little kid and it's a flat out disgrace to the people who have tried to raise you as a decent person. Or did they?

LOL you just proved my point exactly. The double standard. If I talk about the KFC dancing chicken guy, then you get all up in arms. But when someone obviously points out Lin's Asianness by posting some deliberate Asian gif, it's supposed to be fine and dandy? Hail naw, and that goes for all the other stupid comments pointing out his race.

That, by the way, is a Korean pop group called Kara. They are very cute. The song in that gif is called "Mr." Hehe.

The equivalent would be when a black player does well, show some people from Kenya dancing. Or show Halle Berry and Tyra Banks.

Sorry, people would not do this when it comes to other races. What is happening is that they view Jeremy Lin as an "Asian", not as a person they can identify with, so they only go with what they know - which is Asian food, Asian women, and Kung Fu. These are the only "positive" depictions of Asians in American society. Blame this on racist people in the media. Also, just because some Asians are cool with it, does not mean it's okay - there is a lot of internalized racism in America caused by these stereotypes.

No, what if there was a big league that featured mostly Asians and one black or white guy became successful in that league and all the Asian fans started posting stupid nicknames dealing with his race and showing gifs and pictures of things pertaining to black or white people? It would feel stupid, offensive, and ignorant. It has nothing to do with food.

Thank you, my brother. I couldn't have said it any better myself. But as much as we try to explain things like this, it will, for the most part, never be fully embraced or understood by the majority of western society. In fact, many people will actually fire back and deny this and say other nonsensical things. But I actually have to give this Knicks board credit. The majority of them are pretty open-minded and cool, compared to even Golden State boards (which you would think would be more pro-Asian, since there are more Asians in the Bay Area, but it wasn't really the case. There was this one douchebag that made the most condescending and ignorant comments...my god)

Call me a pessimist but I'm a bit concerned about this game. I know the Wizards are horrible, but a lot of things had to go right for the shorthanded Knicks to pull off the win against the Jazz -- putting aside Lin's performance (half of which was probably on adrenalin), we needed Novak's clutch shooting, JJ playing out of his mind and Billy Walker making a few less bone-headed plays to pull out the win.

This is obviously a winnable game even without Amare and Carmelo but it's going to be a difficult matchup nonetheless. The Wizard will presumably have done their homework and will focusing their defense on Lin. The concern here I think will be McGee, who I could see altering/blocking enough shots to force Lin out of his comfort zone of attacking the basket. On top of that Lin has to contend with Wall on the perimeter and on defense (maybe Shump should guard Wall?). Plus scrubs like Nick Young always seem to go off agains the Knicks.

I really don't understand why Dantoni still refuses to play Balkman even without Amare and Melo. The guy can provide fresh legs and energy to a shorthanded lineup that is going to see some serious minutes in the next fews days. If Balkman can't play against the Wizards' second unit, then he's a waste of a roster spot.

Still, unless it's a blowout, Mike will likely continue riding Secretariat.

If we play a similar quality of team offense/defense against Washington, we will win. It basically comes down to shutting down their one true threat: John Wall in transition.

Lol so what if I pointed out Lin's Asianess by posting an Asian GIF. I myself am an Asian-American and this stuff does not offend me at all. I don't see anyone getting offended by the GIF, just you. Are you even Asian or just some whiny kid looking to argue? And if you are Asian and got offended by this GIF then my god get a sense of humor.

He's quoting the announcer who actually gaffed saying that.

You're all over the damn forum being overly sensitive, trying to make every damn thing a racial conspiracy.

Shut the **** up already!

People are excited to see the kid doing well.

You're a pessimist. Lin will destroy Wall like he did 2 years ago in summer camp.

I dont understand what all this sensitivity is about. All these race attacks.

Lin and melo joked on the side lines. It was all smiles. I dont understand why people are making accounts to talk trash about race or feeling the need to defend a community that is not under attack.

Maybe you should be offended by lin himself for poking fun at the obvious.

The young man is an American. He is having the time of his life. And the entire city of NY stands behind him.

This is a strong warning. This crap is going to stop.
