if it weren't so sad, it would be hilarious.

guess its life of being a knicks fan :(

Not for nothing, but I'm sure D'Antoni/Gentry never told Amar'e to work on that. Remember, he came to the league straight from high school and playedvin D'Antoni's stupid SSOL system his whole career.

please stop. this is basic stuff that high schoolers know. how to hedge a pick and roll. stop blaming it on the coaches, blame it on the player.

Amare didn't start playing organized basketball till high school and obviously got by on his raw athleticism alone.

I mean if we ask him to play harder D and rebound more that means his knee and back will be put under more stress. If we ask him to have low post moves the same thing.

I think we saw a lot of lackadaisical play from Amare on purpose to rest his body during this grueling season.

On a side note we need a better medical staff. We need to find out where the Phoenix staff graduated from and just hire as many kids from there.

So you don't want him to play defense or have low post moves?

That is not what I am saying. I want him to do all those things. I just have this feeling that when we ask him to do and he tries at 30 something that he has never done before his body will break down to the point that he will be out for the season.

The man has not played defense his whole career and broke down. What do you think will happen when he starts at 30 ??

I want him traded. I would take anything at this point.

That's also gonna be a big part of Jeremy Lin's role here. He'll have to be confident enough to turn Melo away and feature Stat more often (not blaming Melo, it's good that he's aggressive and it shouldn't be his job to feature Stoudemire). That's why a good point guard is important.

Would a post game be nice for Amar'e? Yes, but I'd much prefer him to work on his defense.

Complete Fiction. Amare's game looked horrid MOST of the year with the exception of maybe a dozen games. His offensive skillset the first two months alone was a comedy of horrors. How you could possibly say he was good most of the season is unbelievable. He sucked most of the season and was maybe competent in a minority of the games. He was only actually all-around good in half a dozen games at best and just acceptably useful on offense for the rest of his paltry contributions this season. Basically, he sucked eggs most of the season. Come on.

No one ever asked me to defend or rebound or develop a post-game. I didn't think anyone cared about me. Wah!

But, gee golly wiz, now that someone really does care, I'm gonna work real hard and do just that, oh boy, yesiree bob!

Well, he himself has to know that he can't rely on his face up game anymore and needs to adjust. In prior years skill development probably took a backseat to conditioning because he could still be effective. This summer needs to be about skill development. He'll be out of the league in 3 years if he doesn't...

You're right. On his current trajectory, the algebraic formula with axis X being his physical talent in decline and axis Y being his skill set static, you have a trend line which sends him off the chart and out of the league at the end of his contract if he doesn't counteract his physical decline with an increase in skills.
