I've never once missed Wilson Chandler. I just feel that we've already replaced Wilson Chandler as our 6th man off the bench. His name is J.R Smith.

J.R Smith: 33.2 minutes, 16.8 points (.400%), 5.0 boards, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.6 turnovers per game. Player Efficiency Rating of 15.76.

Chandler: 23.4 minutes, 11.9 points (.448%), 5.0 boards, 1.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.4 turnovers per game. Player Efficiency Rating of 15.80.

J.R Smith: $2,806,452.
Chandler: $5,930,415.

When in regards to the 6th man off the bench, our Knicks got a much better deal/value in J.R Smith when compared to Denver being stuck with Wilson Chandler. Who's contract only increases from here on out. Not even close to being worth it for Denver.

Wilson Chandler gets a lot of freak injuries...I remember the teeth in the forearm infection...the guy can't catch a break. I've said this a few times too, if I could bring anyone of our former players back, it'd be Wilson. That's based both on his play and fit on our roster.

Wow Illson cant manage to stay healthy. He was playing pretty well too. I wonder how this affects Denver's chances for the playoffs.

It was David Lee that actually had the infection. It was Chandler's tooth that went into Lee's arm. I'm not sure Chandler actually got hurt from that play.

But yeah, he does have a lot of freak injuries. He doesn't seem like a player who would be injury prone, considering he doesn't take major spills and he hasn't had any recurring problems. It always seems to be a different body part every time.

It's a shame, because he was really starting to play well.

Yea, he's played during 27 of Denver's previous 30 games. And before that he missed 34 of Denver's first 38 games due to being injured.

Really solid NBA talent, just can't stay on the court for an extended amount of time.

I don't see how JR and Wilson are up for comparison.

JR is a PG/SG/SF, primarily a SG.
Wilson is a SG/SF/PF, primarily a SF.

Wilson would be AWESOME starting alongside Melo.

This is obvious. If I had to choose one of the two (for the hell of it), i'd still pick Wilson over JR.

NYKMentality85 wrote:As I've been saying dating back to last season, J.R Smith any day over Wilson Chandler for 6th man off the bench. Not only does Wilson Chandler struggle to stay healthy, but his contract. He's not worth that much money. When you compare J.R's contract to Wilson's, then compare their overall numbers? It's obvious as ever, that J.R Smith is the much better value for our Knicks moving forward.

Pls go

Wilson is way better than jr

Since all-star break:
WC: .509 .447 6.2-11.2 4.8 reb 15 ppg 26 minutes
JR: .402 .375 6.5-16.3 5.3 reb 18.8 ppg 32.7

Only fair to compare a healthy Chandler vs a healthy Smith.
Play time is over.

Why? Why not look into the entire picture dating back to the trades? Because it doesn't fit your agenda? So instead, you use a small sample size dating back from only the all-star break in order to prove how wrong I really am? J.R Smith has been much more productive and he's also made a larger NBA impact over the past couple of seasons. That's reality. For much cheaper too. It's only fair to judge J.R to a healthy Chandler? But it's not fair to mention J.R hasn't missed a single game here in 2012-2013 while throwing his body into the line of fire time and time again? Can't have it both ways. By the way you judge players and/or situations ala only a healthy J.R vs a healthy Wilson, would it also be right to only judge Chris Bosh against a healthy Amar'e Stoudemire? Can I now state Amar'e is the better player? It's a huge flaw.

J.R Smith has been better for New York than what Wilson Chandler has been to Denver. You can't argue it. We have the better 6th man coming off our bench moving forward.

Sad about Wilson, but he's been riddled with injuries in Denver. I enjoyed his stint as a Knick though. A nice utility player who could finish around the basket and rebound some. The guy literally had his car all decked out in Knicks gear and got it painted orange and blue. Too bad he had to spend his years here when we were terrible/clearing salary.

I still remember him stone cold stuffing McGee and WAS a few years back. Just filthy.
