To be fair, Stephen A wasn't the only person in media or NBA to call Porzingis a long term project

It's a testament to how good his support system is. He obviously should lead his own life but, with so many changes in his life, to surround yourself with family is a really smart thing to do and, based on what we have heard from him, they have clearly been a great influence on him.

He needs his mom to fend off the women. The last thing KP needs is some skank trying to lock him down. He needs to focus on the game.

I agree. Matt Barne's wife has her eye on him.

He was the only one to "leave his vacation" -- you know, the one he planned for draft day, RANT, and purposely mispronounce his name.

The catch and shoot numbers were the ones you just knew were going to go up because of how good his stroke was.

yeah he was way too good of a shooter to keep missing those shots.

the numbers at the rim are what surprise me though. i figured they would climb up after he came back stronger over the summer but it turns out kp just figures stuff out.

forget his career i don't know what the ceiling on him is this season.

I think he's the rare case of the NBA game, size of the court, spacing etc.. actually fitting his style of play way better than the FIBA game. So that's probably why he's been so much more productive his rookie year than his last year in span. So then picture 5 years from now.. he's going to be a terror.. on offense he's like a 7'3" center version of Kevin Durant and on defense his like a Mark Eaton. That's a player that we've never seen before.

Tell me with a straight face, this kid doesn't have a good chance to be one of the greatest players of all time.

Like I said.... the last 15 years were worth it. This is about to be an incredible journey for us.

Is it time for TKF to return to the board yet??

it's just hard to wrap your head around that sort of player.

before the season started i said that kp has the potential to be better than dirk because of his athleticsm and defense but i got laughed at and i was supposedly ''making stuff up''. where yall at now, this kid is the **** truth.
i also thought kp was going to be better than we all projected him to be this season but damn i never thought he was gonna be this good so early. he really could average 17-10-2 in his rookie season! amazing

every once in awhile i watch those videos grantland did on kris before the draft and his brother begs people to find the flaws in kris' game so he can fix it. usually you can just brush stuff like that off as predraft hype but it's actually happening with kp.

whenever a hole in his game pops up he fixes it almost immediately and it never comes back. i've never seen anything like it.

fumbling passes in the summer league? he catches everything now.

dropping the ball low after he grabs a board? never again.

accustomed to the shorter three point line? 10 games later he can't miss.

too many cheap fouls? barely fouls anymore.

towelie wrote:This is the first time in a long time I feel the hype is actually warranted. Us Knicks fans always have a tendency to overhype our rookies every year, all the way from Channing Frye to Gallinari. But Kristaps is the first rookie where I feel we're not just drinking the Kool-Aid. He's a legit all-star in the making.

I honestly think this is one of the few times his hype is actually below his talent level. He just keeps getting better. He's already transformed multiple times in such a short period.

1. When he was first drafted people thought he was 2-3 years away from being a rotational player

2. After summer league I thought he could come in and score and play some defense off the bench, but he was still awkward and wouldn't make huge impact.

3. After Preseason I thought he could be a ok starter but he might cost us some wins due to rookie mistakes

4. First couple games of the season I was amazed by his rebounding and hustle and believed that he would thrive off hustle plays and rebounding and his numbers would be slightly under 10 pts and 10 rebounds, but have a ton of putback highlights. His problems with foul trouble and his shooting touch would fix themselves by next year next year.

5. Now I don't know what to believe. His shooting touch is unreal, a guy that size shouldn't be able to shoot 3s at this rate. He hasn't even had a huge putback in a while but he is still scoring in a new way every game. He looks like he is going to average 17/10 till the end of the season. And even that might be a low end prediction.

Already there's "The Next Porzingis." That's how you know he's made a lot of strides in a very short time.

I noticed Krisplash was already featured pretty heavily on Twitter's new TV ad. Helps that he's in N-Y-C and 7-3 (rhyming couplet).

The Euro big obsession is gonna start all over again thanks to Porzingis. Hopefully, the next ones all bust

Remember when some people were saying Porzingis should stop shooting threes?
