Re: GT: New York Knicks @ Philadelphia 76ers (Thu, 9PM)
It would be nice to see the team play a complete game in this series. I know Thibs has had success throughout his career slowing the game down and mucking the game up but there has to be a way to generate easier looks on offense. The team lacks a second creator which puts a ton of weight on Brunson's shoulders but outside of game 3 the ball movement and player movement has been terrible.
Slowing the game down and constantly playing through Brunson allows the team to limit turnovers, crash the boards and focus their energy on the defensive end but it also makes our offense predictable and easy to stop when Brunson is not hitting everything. Fortunately he is an incredible shot maker but there needs to be more to the offense than Brunson isos and pick and rolls.
I said this after game 2 but where are the off ball screens being set for anyone but Brunson? How are the Knicks playing against a team with a 7 foot almost 300 pound center on one leg, a 38 year old Lowry and a 35 year old Batum with a weak supporting cast outside of Maxey but still playing at the slowest pace in the playoffs? The Knicks are only playing big at the 5 with a 6'7 power forward, a 6'4 small forward and a miniature backcourt with everyone in their 20's. And despite slowing the pace down they still aren't containing Maxey.

Does not matter, random citizens are not really fans, they may boo Embiid as well.
Are you fans of the team or the player?

Really need someone like Donte to step up tonight. FTs and getting quality shots will be crucial tonight. I hope that Thibs is willing to go back to the small ball lineups for stretches because that seemed to really work well game 4.
Let’s bury them at home with their free ticket recipient fans!

I like finding Josh Hart or iHart off the roll in the middle of the floor so they can create from that position as both are our next best creators after Brunson and both have solid floaters they can deploy when left wide open. We should run more of that.

Divo goes off and Maxey gets cold.

I don’t want to guarantee anything but I think tonight is the last game of this series.

just come out focused and hungry, can not get out rebounded again. I am pretty sure Harris/Kelly/Batum/Payne are not going to combine for 50 again. Leave Mitch on Embiid by himself, try all you can to contain Maxey stay home on 3-7 and I promise we come away victorious. if you are going to double Embiid it needs to be what they were doing early on when the closest man would come defend the nearest pass and force a difficult pass(why he has damn near 10 turnovers. Also give Precious some time so we don't have 5 guys playing 44+ minutes.

I'm sure Scott Foster is going to call things evenly.

Not many coaches are going to bench their starting 2-guard in the playoffs. Especially someone who has been vocal about Thibs. +uld even consider giving Divo some of Hart's minutes and give more minutes to Deuce.
But isn't this just like when Grimes=DDV and DDV was the old Deuce? Same dynamic where the bench 2G provides the energy scoring. Which makes me wonder if it isn't more about something off with the coaching/schemes?
Rereading my quote just messed up my brain.
Kind of, but not really. Grimes problem was a lack of confidence in his shot. He let that effect his game down the line. I don't know what Divo's issues are, other than tighter D on him. But he's not really a 1 dimension player. And even though he's being guarded more tightly, he's still missing open looks to boot. And some of his drives has him going into the strong side. Hart and OJ, even if they're not shooting well or involved in the offense, are still impacting the game. Divo has no impact outside those momentum plays.

Foster was the ref game 1 no? and we won, can't get into all this referee nonsense, play a clean game and the refs won't have anything to do with the outcome. Embiid can't move man, we should be putting him in high pick and rolls, it's a crime if we don't
