Yep - I was and still remain down on Russell...though I suspect I could be wrong.
On draft night - hours before the draft it was down to KP6 or Mudiay for me and at the time (before the draft) I said I want KP6.
Prior to that point I was a Towns guy all along but given the choice to draft over with the #1 pick today --- I take KP6 over Towns and a major part of that is his confidence, swag and love for the game. Not knocking Towns but just loving KP6.
One thing that turned me off to Russell was a report saying he had bragged to Phil he was the best player in the draft and was reputedly very full of himself during draft interviews.
Instead, Phil picked a guy with the right mindset and the talent to improve himself.
