For those who’ve advocated for playing it safe and standing pat, a game like this shows why we can’t afford that luxury. We are still one more impact player (preferably a two-way player w/ real shot creation skills) away from true contention.

Feels like a game where Grimes could have helped but Thibs is rigid and seems to have soured on Grimes.

Hopefully he’s not making a comeback

The ball just took some bad ricochets. Sometimes the basketball gods hate you

You have to admit it’s a little concerning that Randle/Brun are the only 2 active players on the roster who can comfortably break down the D/get below the FT line to suck in the defense. It’s a clear as day problem right now and going forward.

Sure, we could use a third scoring option, the bench isn’t cutting it. Donte did what he could with 19 but nobody else stepped up

Even then we still scored 124 points which should be enough to win a game

The full court defense on Jalen to start the game set the tone. Thibs as usual had no answer for it and it clearly took us out the game. OG as a 3rd option is not going to work. He’s simply not aggressive enough to create. This creates a problem because Divo is playing well and doesn’t require the ball. We need another ball handler and scorer in that first unit unfortunately to fit the iso bros. Funny thing we just traded 2.

Yup, we have obvious flaws and I think tonight highlighted our clear need for another scorer who can handle the rock, draw fouls, and create. That's especially important when JB's shot is off. We also need a backup big, whether that'll be Mitch before the playoffs or a stopgap who is more reliable than Precious and Jericho. We're not contenders as currently constructed.

People were saying this about IQ as well. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s relocated soon

All I’m saying is these 37-40min games for Brunson is a terrible idea in an 82 game season. Sure we can live in the moment but life has a way of throwing curve balls.

I thought precious was decent enough as a stop gap backup tonight

Context wrote:I'm gonna keep it real...When I saw that Kyrie video from Mel- I was like- never knew it was that disrespectful..
So I decided to watch the game...Unfortunately, I got home late...turned on the laptop and I see we're down 20 points
First thing I thought was if what Kyrie said wasnt personal to the Knicks -then why should I care...So I found something else to do...
Then I checked in when we were down in the 4th by about 8 points...you all know the rest...

If we can upgrade Randle- we should do it...Randle is not mentally strong enough for us to win a title with him...

melo ain’t gonna like this

There were some serious FanDuel lines being played. Just got hosed on so many critical calls. But we played ourselves with how we came out. Ultimate trap game like that Suns game without Durant. It was Kyrie and the Scrappers.

It was probably his best game as a Knick tonight, but the bar is low.

Sure, but it may still require the patience shown to get OG. IOW, that trade may be possible now before the deadline, but possibly will have to wait until the Summer
