I think its time...
I will start off by saying this. I am a huge Gallo fan. He been my favorite player on the knicks and i only look forward to him succeeding . But... I think its time we trade him. Here are my reason why.
1. He hardly get touches , i will use tonight as an example , yes Amare and Felton were taking over and doing what we want them to do.But why can't Gallo be invovled ? Why does everyplay have to be the same thing to the right side of the court , felton to amare and than back. Thats all. Why not every other possession , Gallo should be feature. It would make the game alot easier. im going to hear , he shot 2-6 from down town , ok how about if he didnt have to shoot it every 12 possessions without touching the ball.
2. Coach wants a floor spacing , so lets do him a favor and trade Gallo for a floor spacing , a 3 pt specialist , because Gallo is a good 3 pt shooter but thats not all he is.
3. Gallo needs to be invovled in the offense , ALL the time . And it not happening over here in New York.
4. I think it best for Gallo and the Knicks.
5. His game will be stunted here , and he will never developed into what he can be.
6. He should get opportunity to play point forward , idk if people noticed but he has good handle look at the ATL when he try to take Smith off the dribble and than again tonight at the ending. He should be playing the T.Prince role..
7. IF he was invovled in the offense , he wouldnt have to live or die by the 3. he can do alot more , and wont get to show it.
My Trade Idea
Knicks Trade : Gallo
Knicks Recieve: Marco Belinelli , 2012 or 2011 1st round pick , 2nd round pick
Why Knicks ?
Coach gets his floor spacer and he is an actually SG , so that would allow Chandler to start SF and do his thing. He is also expiring , so more cap room in the summer. We get a pick in exchange as well. And it doing Gallo a favor , you want a 3 pt specialist you got it Coach , because thats not gallo game nor will it be. I cant stand to see him become undeveloped , 22 yrs old , good shot , 6'11 , decent ball handling skill , excellent FT shooter.
Why Hornets ?
Say Hello Chris Paul , Gallo will avg 20 a game by the end of the season , He will get his chance to show his real skill set and prove he deserved to get picked number 6.
I know my response will be , Why thank you another reason for Chris Paul to stay in NO. Also remember Gallo needs to get paid 2012 summer and so does Chris Paul. I guess Money will talk , if Chris Paul really wants to come to NewYork.
Any Thoughts ? I love Gallo and want him to succeed but it isnt happening in NewYork esp with this Coach , who doesnt stress to his pointguard to get Gallo invovled.
Tonight he started off with 7 pts in the frist quarter , because he was getting invovled .

It's not the coach that's not getting himself involved. It's Gallo's own damn fault.

We've been playing well and after every game their is always a dumb thread or two started. How about everyone just enjoys this team since they are playing their heart out every night?

Why is Gallo entitled to any of the things you mentioned? Belly Nelly and some picks? That would make me very upset.

exactly, complaining about Amare and Felton, dominating???, About Gallo getting touches?, It's Gallo's own damn fault that he wasnt getting involved. If it's all Amare and Felton, then how the hell Did WC have 27 pts. and 11 rebs., nobody wants to hear this cries for Gallo. I like Gallo too, but he's off and on, I Dont wanna hear about him not getting enough touches. We won, And our 2 stars dominated and other players stepped up.Gallo didnt. Hopefully he does next game.Enough said....Smh.

Re: I think its time...
So we trade Gallo so he could look like a star on another team? I'm not getting this logic. How about we keep him because he's still a positive on this team even without getting much touches. The other teams know he can shoot that 3. That alone changes the way the D plays. The kid is a threat, a 22 year old threat, I say we keep him for now. Buy low, sell high. The time to trade Gallo is when his value is high, not now when his numbers are mediocre.

Re: I think its time...
Agreed. On another team, Odom would probably be a bona fide starter, and average 18 and 10. What makes him great for the Lakers is that he can at times do all the little things while letting Kobe and Gasol run the show, but his ability to score keeps defenses honest. He doesn't get as many touches but he sure as hell is a critical element of the team's success. Gallo's function was very similar tonight. Even though his shot wasn't falling, he was rebounding, playing defense, and spreading the floor. As long as he continues to do that and the Knicks are winning, I don't care if Felton and Amare are the only features on offense.

people are too bitter, used to the losing n don't know how to be happy for this team. if Gallo went for 30 pts there would still be haters saying he took too many shots. n to trade him now why? People love to hate n to be miserable. Lets enjoy the recent success of the Knicks.

Basically , ok you want a threat you can easily get one and give Gallo his chance. Maybe tonight Chandler got the ball FROM felton. Why should he have to ASSERT himself , why cant he just flat out be a MAIN part of the offense and not just a stand in the corner , shoot the 3 type guy. He has to live and die by the 3 in this offense. His shot is off , his a bum , because thats the only thing he is allowed to do. Im a big gallo fan. YES IM HAPPY WE ARE OVER .500 and we are playing hard , but just not happy that Gallo cant be a big part of it , like i said im going to hear he shot 2-6 from 3 , Why does he have to wait 10 possessions to touch the ball ? Why cant it be every other play he be featured ? he has the skillset. You should just trade him help him get his opportunity. Why WASTE talent , if his job is to be a 3pt specialist , Trade for an expiring one and get some picks.

His stats will never or value will get high , because of the same reasons i stated. He wont get to 18 ppg , he just wont. Even to get to the FT line , you need to ball in your hands. I hate seeing him have to launch a 3 and miss because he didnt touch the ball in 10 possessions.

As a Suns fan watching from far distance in previous seasons, I always thought Gallo was nothing. But watching him play more due to following Amare here, I'd say he is an excellent player all around. He might not be the star Dirk is, but he will be every bit as good as Kukoc or Odom as the solid 3rd option on a championship team and a very good starting 3 on any NBA team.

Gallo had 13 points on 2-6 from 3 missing literally wide ope 3's...that wont continue. If he was 4-6 from downtown (bc they were open) he would have finished with 19 points and 6 boards in a game he didnt play particulary well.
I love gallo, do not want to trade gallo. I am also ok with who gallo is right now and who i still think he can turn into. We all know what he can do when he is featured and hot but if you tell me the games he isnt involved and missed open shots he still has 13 and 6 ill take it.
Those type of games used to be 4 points 1 rebound.

One of the worst trades I've seen in my life. The Hornets rob us in this deal. Giving up Galo for a nobody like Belinelli and worthless picks? No thanks.
It may be time to trade Gallinari, but you can do better than that scrub.

At the end of the day, it's up to Gallo to get involved.
He's the Knicks 4th (3rd could be argued) best player, yet the offense (which has been rolling) needs to somehow change to get him more touches?
Hit the boards, stay active on defense, move without the ball & and run the court, I'm sure Gallo will find himself getting all the shots he needs.
