KB2011 MOCK: 23rd Pick Rockets Select Jeremy Tyler

This is the 2nd of two 1st round picks for the Rockets. Having already selected Marcus Morris with their first 1st rounder (14th overall) they can go any number of directions here. Still in need of a true center, perhaps they go with the only one left on the board? Or do they go with one of the high upside but raw wings?

Were the Rockets one of the reams rumored to have promised Jackson?

If not, they can really go with any number of guys. Tyler makes sense from a need standpoint as hes the only 1st round caliber C left. They could go the stash a high upside player overseas route with Bertans. Or go with Jackson or one of the combo guards.

I think they go with Tyler here.

Yep and with Kevin McHale now the headcoach I think the Rockets will have all the more reason to take Tyler. A terrible GM but McHale is considered a great guy to have to work with young bigs. Seems like a perfect pick for them in terms of both need and upside.

Kevin Love gives alot of praise to McHale for his development, and was truly sad when he got fired from the TWolves...

McHale is just good with young bigmen, I say Tyler here as well

Yeah they gotta go with size with Ming now being a constant question mark and McHale feeling he can turn any bigman around...

Oh and Jordan Hill is their backup center. Yeah Jeremy Tyler it is.

Morey doesn't give one rat's ass about position. Jeremy Tyler is a mediocre late late first/second round talent.

BPA in this case (according to consensus, since we don't know Morey's board) is Tobias Harris.

Actually since they took a PF with the 14th pick, I think HOU goes with a Guard and gets Darius Morris to be the backup point guard for them and potential groom at the 1 spot.
