"Let's get these 2 home games"
How can anybody say that with a straight face anymore? after the 2 games we just saw, do you guys honestly think we have a chance to win a game against miami?? i sure as sh*t don't.
we have baron davis playing 20 minutes per game, and the rest of the way it's mike bibby and jr smith handling the point. LOL!!! we have our best defender out with a completely torn up knee. We have jeffries limping around on a bad knee, unable to do what he does. we have landry fields shooting line drives at the rim trying to knock it down. and we have a coach that has no offensive imagination.
meanwhile, we are going up against the most physically gifted team in the nba who are OUT on the fast break at the drop of a dime. every loose ball/turnover/long rebound leads to an easy dunk, layup or and1. lebron never gets tired and he bothers the hell out of melo on defense. we are overmatched. completely.
Now, all of that is not to say that we don't have potential as a team. We're just injured and we still haven't had any time TOGETHER. I am VERY excited about next year. We should be able to add some small pieces via free agency/draft, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, we will have a whole off season together. We will have an offseason program. Hopefully we get some pieces that fit or mold some pieces that we already have to fit.
I'll still watch these next 2 games, but i have no expectations and i don't think you guys should either. it's just self destructive at this point.

Don't worry dude, there were people thinking we'd sweep the Heat a week ago.

Re: "Let's get these 2 home games"
Honestly, in my opinion, we will get these two home games. Amares injury could unite the club. Additionally role players tend to do better at home. It is one of the old adages of sports.
Our bench was supposed to be a huge edge for us, they were outscored yesterday 26-19. If we get guys on the bench involved, they have good odds for a breakout.
Why are we losing?? turnovers and NO MOVEMENT. Not even ball movement, but player movement. When guys don't move on offense, it allows the defense to conserve energy. I would bet in a given match up a player on offense uses 2/3 energy of their defender. For this reason, Novak should be in constant motion, making Battier and Jones get fatigued. Tired shooters lose their legs and then miss shots.
We have to unleash Douglas. We don't need him to play point guard, we need him to try to penetrate and be a scorer. tbh, if I were coaching, I would treat the NY sg position the way some baseball managers treat the #2 hole, just plug in a guy who can move the runner and tread water.
Have Fields and Smith come in off the bench.
If Amare is indeed hurt, start Harrelson, we need hustle and rebounding. Harrelson can provide spacing and attempt to play a Kurt Thomas role

Until someone on our team not named Melo learns to score nothing is going to happen. Amare HAS to be a part of the offense and that seems even more unilkely now. No shumpert to put pressure on Wade. Nobody to even try to contain Lebron (Melo is not capable of defending him alone). We have no chance. Our only outside chance is if Miami has an off shooting game and Novack and Smith go crazy on 3 point shots. I dont see it happening. Our defense just isnt good enough to stop Miami for stretches and our offense is too unreliable. we could have a 25 point lead half way through the 3rd quarter and i wouldnt be confident that we could pull out the win. We're liable to go 8 minutes at a time without scoring.

You need an attacking PG to beat Miami. Plain and simple. Look at how we scored when Baron was able to get beneath the FT line.

Re: "Let's get these 2 home games"
The key is Jeremy Lin. He's Woody's offense. No Lin, no win. That's logic. But sometimes miracle defies logic, e.g. Clips beating Grizz overcoming 21 pt deficit in 12 mins. Like CP3 said, they (or at least he) never lost faith. Our miracle is in players' faith to believe this is not over and therefore they're gonna do their 100% absolute best on defense, particularly transition defense.
One thing the Mavs did very well last year against athletic Heat and do very well now against athletic Thunder is all five players run (as if it were for their life) back to defense when they commit a turnover or Thunder get a defensive rebound. It's like watching synchronized swimming, as soon as Thunder get the ball, all 5 guys run back. Not one player jogs. They can make their much younger and much more athletic counterparts average offensively because they keep reducing them to playing half court.
We have to stay committed to defense and transition defense, rebounding, and it might extend the series...
I'm still hoping this happens so Lin can come back for Game 4/5 and Linsanity redo!

Re: "Let's get these 2 home games"
We're missing two starters, possibily three. We're playing the favorite to win a Championship. We lost by 10 last night even if it was a little closer than that in reality.
Why are you whining?
You think anyone cares?
This is playoff basketball. This is why games matter. We should have had 1 more win and avoided the cHeat.
We made our bed and sadly we are decimated against a overwhelming foe.
But we shall see what we are made of in NYC
The team will rally. Will the fans?

@tomhaberstroh: Miami shouldn't be thrilled with Amare's actions. Why? The Knicks are about 10 pts better every 48 mins with him out. http://t.co/jJtlMakf
I honestly think we have a better chance to win now that Stat will be out, even though Amare's Offense has been somewhat good and somewhat efficient, his defense is really attrocious and his defensive IQ is terrible honestly, i think Harrelson starting over Stat is better because Harrelson actually boxs out, rebounds and plays actual defense. We were in the game the whole time until the 4th honestly and Harrelson could hit the 3 and isnt as doofy with the ball as Stat. Plus now Melo could revert back to playing team ball more like when Stat was out when he was swinging the ball every time he got doubled or what not,
Stat is defitnetly more of a ball stopper then Melo, Stat has no idea to pass the ball around once he gets it the ball is either going up, he does a charge, fumbles the ball or scores, he more so does the other then score
what pisses me off the most is how many times Stat just doesnt play defense, espcially when Bosh gave Chalmers the ball at the 3 line and he was getting ready to shoot a 3 and Stat is staring right at him and just steps back, Stat had **** time to tie his shoe then go and defend the man but he just steps back and hopes that a NBA player misses a shot he has took 1000's of time in his life. Harrelson would defitnetly not do that or let that happen

All we need is game 3. Lin coming back in game 4 will give us all the energy we need.

plus, no Stat on the floor= more space for Melo and Chandler to work and it just spaces the floor more

no need to lock it.. lets address it..
I will..
now we know that melo and amare and chandler don't mesh.. amare is out and honestly I think we were a bit too hard on amare.. it is up to melo to find a way to make this team work.. I mean he is the star here right?
Ok.
I say put melo at the 4... and melo has to find ways to get shots for his teamates that can't for themselves.. and save some energy for the 4th qtr...
woodson has to be creative.. use harrelson and Jordan.. he has to.... if lin can come and give us some minutes.. GREAT!!
All it takes is a win on thursday and we have a new series.. just plant a little doubt in the minds of miami.. we are going to see if they can still keep hitting shots.... if they do, we are done... but lets not give up.. I really don't think they are that good..

Love your optimism. Just feels like we're not in the series. Game 2 was better but not much. Our D was still bad. Our energy and confidence are not there.
But if we play crazed in Game 3, we can turn it around yes. You never give up hope as a player.
As a fan, I'm dying here.

Some of u guys have no heart its called home court for a reason role players tend to play way better at omeas we saw with the heat scrubs but now we are at home we wont see Chambers making Derrick rose floters we wont see mike miller and Shane batter make 3 poiners 5 feet behind the line so stop acting scared and be real fan
