Brandon Roy?

Post#1 » by Red Vines » Sun Jun 17, 2012 3:25 am

Roy is preparing and expecting to come back next year, any chance he can still be good for significant minutes? His skillset is pretty much exactly what we could use at the 2 IF he can hold up physically.

Brandon is going to have to show everyone he can still play. Severe knee injuries and a year away from the game don't bode well for his comeback.

maybe time off is what he needs.. if that knee holds he can probably still play, just reduced minutes.. the guy is a highly skilled player...

He was supposed to be the next big 2 guard in the league. It's a shame his career went the way it did.

if he would take a the vet min its a no brainer.low risk/high reward profit.
i think he will be limited to 20 minutes a night, but for him that could produce solid production off any teams bench

You know how a piece of chalk run across the blackboard can make your skin crawl? Imagine hearing that sound every day Brandon Roy stepped on to the court. I don't think this is a recovery issue. Its a bone on bone issue.

Could be interesting. I'm sure he could be had at the Vet min. He can't have a devastating injury, take a year off, and think he come back at a high salary. Teams will look to sign him on a one year before making any type of long term commitment. He could be solid off the bench. I don't picture him getting starter's minutes.

Which is why I asked a month or two ago, did he have some new experimental treatment that will allow him to make a comeback. I know players are headed to Europe for breakthrough treatment but I have not heard one word of him doing so. If he did, and it was successful he would be a welcome addition to our team. He is still making a ton of money from Portland so the vet minimum could get him here.

Breakthrough treatments here in Europe are just that....treatments. They help you heal faster, but won't give you body parts you don't have. What Roy needs is medicinal miracle. Unfortunately, that is illegal everywhere.
