On a game like last night

Is a perfect example what Shump brings to the table. Not saying Felton did a bad job, but we need his energy on off, Shump would shut down Parker with his size and quickness. Just saying...

Shumpert coming off an injury wouldn't be able to stop Parker.

Not saying Parker did a good job, but he also did not do a bad job. Tony Parker did shoot 7/20

Parker "folded like a card table" in the fourth. Shump would have been helpful covering him in the first 3 quarters.

Sadly, with all that you gain, you also lose. With Shump out there, Kidd would sit. We don't win last night without Kidd.

Parker had a really bad fourth but he killed us before that...I like felton but he cant guard the quickest guards in the league we need a healthy shump for that

Shump on a penetrating guard like Parker is icing on the cake for our team. However our guards did a good job on him in the 4th.

Not to derail your thread, but on a sidenote I am going to beat this drum the whole season but JKidd SHOULD NOT play more than 20 min a game.

He is going to get fatigued. We need him as fresh as possible for the playoffs.

Shump when he comes back should be able to take some of those minutes.

Did anyone notice we still have Camby and KT as backups and in any other team they would be one of the first bigs off the bench but in our team they are collecting DNPs? Damn our team is deep. Oh yeah and I forgot about a guy named Amare.

Felton was brilliant in the fourth quarter last night, the previous 3 quarters he was a ball hogging chucker. He missed so many jumpers that I was actually surprised that he keep taking shots instead of running the ball club like a PG should. It wasn't like the Knicks needed his offense either. Anthony and Smith were in the game at the same time, and he still kept firing away. I think he just wanted the media to get into "Feltonsanity," but he missed most of his jumpers and it also won't happen because he didn't come out of nowhere the way Lin did.

In the fourth quarter he played like he should play. Taking what the defense gave him, not forcing shots (even though he kind of still did), getting to the basket for layups and runners, and only take the open jumpers off of ball movement, not off-the-dribble chucking. He defense was pretty terrible all game too. He looked much better defensively in his first couple games, which is why we keep those teams under 85 points. If you watch the game again, you'll see him raise his hand a bunch of times on defense signifying "my fault", because Parker was living in the paint. And Parker has been pretty sh**ty this year. I know because he's on my fantasy basketball team and I've been trying to trade him for over a week now.

Felton helped the team last night, but he was far from brilliant... at least not until the 4th.

As for Shumpert, I was thinking as the game was going on, I do know where he's going to fit in the rotation. Woodson already has a quick hook for Brewer, Prigioni, (and sometimes Kidd) and overplays JR Smith (even on a cold game). Smith has proven that he deserves to be on the court because of his ability to create, but when Stoudemire's back, the play to put Shumpert at the end of games would be PG and I can't see Woodson choosing Shumpert to play PG over Felton or Kidd.

Chandler, Stoudemire, Anthony, Smith, PG? (Felton, Kidd, or Shumpert?) I'm thinking Shumpert is out of the equation, especially just coming back from a major injury.

Actually, Kidd did an amazing job on Parker. He was hacking him a little, but he was great.

Last night they switched Kidd onto Parker in the 4th quarter and Kidd did a great job of just keeping him in front of him. There were times where they switched out of it but for most part it was Kidd who helped neutralize Parker late in the game.

Felton was terrific - playing aggressive offense --- which this team really needs. Kidd has just been superb --- may be smartest all-around 2-way player of the last 15 years.
