I hardly ever post in the pg threads, this is one of the reasons why. But 4 or 5 pages is more then enough time to post your celebrating pics. Maybe even make it a regular thing after a knicks win, but eventually I wanna read and talk basketball.

i have said it before to get rid of the gifs altogether. Nice to see some others coming around to that line of thought.

I am just talking the post game thread, the other threads with well timed gifs are entertaining. I was a big contributor in the "Caught cheating-quick kick-ass games" thread.

The problem with the post game thread is that its all the same crap. Repetitive and boring. The girl photos are lame also and I find it pathetic when you see people asking all the time "who is that chick in your avatar/post?" Not that I havent looked at porn before, but if i wanted to look at that i would go to a different site. Cant have a serious basketball discussion when you know that half the dudes on here have erections because thugger posted a gif of some scantily clad girl.

No one has said anything against having both a post game gif thread and a post game discussion thread. Seriously, I don't see why this forum can't handle two separate post game threads to make everyone happy. I could see the post game loss gif thread being very hilarious.

Screw it, I'll just take matters into my own hands. Watch me post both PG GIF's and PG Discussion threads tomorrow right after the game is decided.

I'm with you, we should just try it out today after the Nets game, if it goes well, then we can keep them separate.

This sounds like the best way to handle it. We can have our GIFS and discussions!!

Big proponent of keeping the game thread open. Most of the celebration stuff is happening there anyway.

Then a lil' later a "keys" type thread can pop up as somebody makes it. Maybe one poster will take that up (as TKF did) or maybe by committee.

But it is a real problem and about 2/3 of the forum thinks so. The current arrangement is going to be a turnoff to the women reading this forum but also a deterrent to posters that prefer a more thoughtful analysis of what is going on. A reader often has to dig several pages in to figure out a single thing that happened in the game.

This is a legit option, as well. "PG celebrations/reactions" and "PG analysis thread". I just think the transition (to celebration would be smoother within the game thread.

Really, even if the analysis thread only goes one page it serves its function of somebody quickly coming on and figuring out what happened in a game they missed. I just don't want to have to dig through 10 pages to find one of yours or Remi's or whoever's well thought out reactions.

Have to wait and see how the forum reacts after a win to measure two seperate post game threads. Not a lot of people post GIF's after losses. Regardless of the mood being low tonight, it was refreshing to hone in on strictly analysis.

If I may make a suggestion. Instead of having two threads with one of them focused on Gifs only, how about having two threads with one of them for more in depth analysis (like the keys to the game), and have one thread for pure emotions (Ex: OMG this team is not that good!, We are the best!), one liners, and gifs.

The latest "Gif Game Thread" was lame. It might get better after a win.

Good call. I was going to say the analysis thread was mostly filled with one liners that could have gone in the GIF thread. The posters who took time to post their analysis of the game were solid though.

Also, it would add some more fun to the gif thread. The gifs are just not as funny with only gifs alone There has to be some responses and emotions to add to the fun.

I believe the upbringing of the analytical post-game threads has already been reached success. I like the analysis thread. It is just down to getting the other one to work.

Thanks for making the two threads. I like it. :)

that's because you're not funny/topical/savvy enough to play them at the right times

or maybe its because I have a life and don't want to spend hours of my day searching the internet for gifs. I've seen the same gifs posted over and over again... How is that savvy?

Limiting GIFs to the first 3 pages won't help, since these GIFs will just end up quoted on later pages. That also prevents any game talk from being on the first 3 pages.

The best thing is for us to get mature about the GIFs and stop going overboard with them. It takes forever for pages to load when a poster puts 12 GIFs in one post that are irrelevant to the KNICKS. It's also tasteless to the female and little kid KNICK fans (not everybody is registered) who come here but end up seeing semi-X rated GIFs of females. There are sites to see naked females, but this one isn't it. So turning a PG thread into an instant porn site is a problem.

We just need to get smart and mature about this. Posting 1 GIF of some kid dancing in celebration of a win is one thing. Posting 20 GIFs of naked females is totally different and is not the time or place for that sort of thing.

I think the first thread is really a "reaction" thread - be it celebration or disappointment.

I automatically skip to the 2nd page of any PG thread to avoid the same wall of tired animated gifs.
