Knicks need to go after Jarrett Jack

Post#1 » by Jesus2Fields » Sun May 19, 2013 4:45 pm

Jack's actually one of the better PGs in the NBA, and he'd be a good upgrade over a Kidd or Prigioni. He can shoot, pass, defend, and rebound. He automatically becomes the Knicks best PG.

It's really astonishing how underrated he is.

I agree that he's underrated, but he's still a backup PG

We have 3 backup PGs, it's time that we get a legit NBA-caliber starting point guard

He's better than most starting PGS even though he's never been a fulltime starter in his career. If the Knicks can start Felton, they can start Jack over him.

How?

There are plenty of available players Knicks would be lucky to have, but I fail to see ho Jack would be coaxed to sign here.

With what money? He makes about $5M a year right now, and is probably looking for a raise following the successful Warrior season. The Knicks have no free cap space, so the most they can offer is the Taxpayer's MLE, which is less than what he's currently making. And there's no way to pay him more via sign-and-trade, since the Knicks are over the apron and can't accept a player in a sign-and-trade.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

He's a good player but he also has moments where he wants to be the hero and takes ill-advised shots. We have enough of that I think lol

We aren't going to be players for these types of guys in the $6-10MM a year range... we just don't have the flexibility to make a deal, and we don't have the assets to entice a S&T (unless you want to start considering Shumpert in trade offers, which I would definitely not do).

He is a PG, but he maybe not be the ideal one-dimensional pass-first PG like Ricky Rubio.

I'd want my PGs to be well-rounded rather than one-dimensional.

Jack would be the best PG on the Knicks if he were to come to New York.

I agree with this...and he plays big in the play offs... If the organization is going to stand pat, this could be a good move...

I'd rather have Jack than JR lets leave it at that.
My lifetime better have a Knicks championship.

Jack in my mind would be a great pg for the Knicks and is a strong enough character to distribute the ball and ensure that the team isn't doing the ISO ball thing. But who in their right mind is going to take Amares contract without big incentives attached to the trade?

How many threads are you going to make without reading the cba faq thread which would render your threads moot?
