Does anyone want to NOT panick about Tyson, just yet?

Post#1 » by AfroThunder » Sun May 19, 2013 7:45 pm

Remember guys that right before the playoffs he did suffer a bulging disk(or is it disc?)

Anyways I want to believe his injury was the main factor on why Tyson played like a newborn against Hibbert (and against the Celtics).

I mean (I know this is a limited sample) throughout the regular season Chandler has defended Hibbert as well as anyone can, and pretty much out-rebounded him in every game. Basically Chandler made Hibbert into his b****.

But still, this is the second straight playoff where Tyson basically disappeared. ._.

Cool thread bro. Who's panicking. He sucked, and sucked throughout this season. I'd like to have him on the team if we could afford that luxury but (i) he can be replaced as a no offense plus defense player and (ii) he's our only tradeable piece outside of Shumpert and we should explore improving our team going forward.

I want to keep Tyson.

I think he should go hang out with Hakeem Olajuwon this summer. I know it's expensive but we can all chip in. I got, like, $10.

He was awful in the playoffs... I don't agree he was awful all regular season (had a great stretch where he was dominating the boards and playing great defensively).

He has to be much much better in the playoffs or we can't with him. If he has trade value and the return is very good, yeah he certainly is not u touchable.

You will be sorely disappointed if you hope a player who has been in the league for 10+ years to all of a sudden develop an offensive game.

That's not why I want to keep Tyson. But that is what he needs to work on. Actually, what I really want for him is to establish his midrange jumper to 15-18 ft. He can hit it but he'll have to stop being "omg the most efficient player in league history". We need him to be a threat outside of the paint.

No Team USA for him or Melo this offseason, which is fantastic.

Time for a Center who can do something when given the ball on offense.

If he made 7 mil a year, no problem. But he makes twice that and we have only a few ways to improve the team.

Tyson is who he is. Whether or not he can co-exist with Melo is another story.

We must fix our perimeter defense before we should even think about attempting to make drastic changes to our paint. How about we get some 2 way players that are willing to go over screens? Chandler didnt have a good series but our perimeter defense was swiss cheese which I feel is more important to fix. We could have 2010 Dwight defending the paint it will do us no good as long as were switching on everything, going under screens and playing small ball.

We got beat by a team playing big ball and the solution (some of) you guys came up with is trading away our defensive anchor. Why the short leash on Tyson yet all the patience in the world for Amare who is the Knicks highest paid player?

Of course he can. The problem really is that he's a tradeable asset and has not been providing value commensurate with his salary.

we can't trade him because your not going to get equal value for him we need a power forward because melo is not 4

it's not panicing, it's reality. we wont have enough around Melo to win it all until Amare's contract expires and by then Tyson will be too old. If you can get pieces for the future ie eric bledsoe and draft picks you do it.

if you going to trade chandler you need a starting center not some scrub or undersize players. I don't want deadre jordan he can't make free throws and he get punks or javal mcgee is an idiot.

The only center thats possibly available that would help the team improve is Al Horford
