When asked if Anthony can lead the Knicks as constructed to an NBA title, Boeheim told the paper: “Not on that team. He did what he can do. He played very well the final game. Everybody’s killing him but Tyson Chandler just didn’t try to catch the ball. He threw him the ball and Tyson Chandler went like this” and the paper said Boeheim dodged in his chair.

“They have no chance to win,’’ Boeheim continued, according to the Syracuse daily. “Pablo Prigioni has never scored against [Team USA]. We played Argentina six or seven times in different events. He hasn’t scored against us. You have to have players to win in the NBA.”

He's right about that play. Tyson frakin ducked like a grenade was coming allowing Stephenson to steal the ball & basically it was the beginning of the end

He's right overall, but Pablo shoots just fine in the good old NBA when he commits to taking his shot so I don't know what that dig against Pablo is about.

He's right. I'm listening to him on Mike and Mike now. This series loss should sit squarely on Tyson's shoulders, but that's not a eye catching storyline.

Pablo was the last dude he should have ripped like that.

I respect Boeheim as a college coach but he should shut up when it comes to NBA.

IDK why he is ripping Pablo considering he is the only player who could run the offense correctly, but he is absolutely right about Tyson. It's really sad how much he has regressed since his flu game.

Mostly agree. We really do need to find a #2 to play alongside Melo. I now think that should be the offseason priority because if he doesn't have help you might as well forget all the championship talk--and everyone knows it.

He's right about both players.

Tyson was garbage, and Pablo will never drive in for a score.

Jim wasn't talking about threes, he's talking about ability to break down a defense with drives, Pablo doesn't do that.

Glad somebody publically ripped Tyson for his effort in the playoffs...shoulda mentioned Hibbert crushing him though. Hopefully the weight loss was the main issue, Hahn implied as much on twitter.

Honestly though Pablo is a role player and driving and kicking is not his role. It's dumb to shout him out for something that's not his function on the team. That's supposed to be Felton.

those 2 plays were melo attacked the basket in the 4th and tyson & k-mart both weren't ready to catch the ball were pretty frustrating.

How much weight did he lose that it made that much impact?

Tyson ducked in that play and even the girls at my table who don't know sh*t about basketball asked why did he duck lol.

This series proved that J.R. is not a true #2. All teams left in the playoffs, J.R. would be the 3rd or 4th option.

Right or wrong, probably not the best thing Boeheim could have done. But then again, Boeheim's never been one to mince words or not say whats really on his mind.

Felton did drive to the hole though, and outside of game 6 he had a playoff run you'd want your starting pg to be.

I know I'm slanted because Jim coaches my favorite college team as well but be honest....

If you had a starting pg who doesn't drive in the paint at all, and never tries to score there we'd all rip him for it.

Everyone wanted somebody to drive into Mount Hibbert, and the Pacers sagged off pablo for a major reason....

He's not a threat on offense, even if he makes a three.

i'm not too thrilled with the way the team went down either and Melo does get more than his share of the blame in NY, but Boeheim sounds like every Melo fan--it's everyone else's fault; Melo needs better teammates to win. It's funny how players, in the eyes of these fans, turn into scrubs playing with him. Felton with Amar'e--excellent PG, facilitator; Felton with Melo--scrub. Tyson with Dirk--championship caliber center; Tyson with Melo--scrub; Pablo in Spain--champion PG; Pablo with Melo--Euro scrub. Does anyone ever look better playing with Melo?

They all need to play better. They need to run better offense; they need to all commit to defense. Felton needs to push the pace and the offense should start with him. They were doing it earlier in the season and they looked great. Boeheim is wrong in the sense that they had the personnel to get past the Pacers this year.
