3. Clippers
4. Kings
5. Bobcats
6. Mavericks
7. Cavs
8. Jazz
9. Pelicans
10.Rockets
11. Warriors
12. Thunder
13. Nuggets
14.Celtics
15. Pistons
16. Wizards
17. Heat
18. Spurs
19. Lakers

22. Hawks
23. Blazers
24. Pacers
25. Bucks
26. Suns
27. Knicks
28. Raptors
29. Bulls
30. Wolves (Forgot who this was, but you should have stuck with your original team lol)

This is how i will be judging each team. Its simple. The most important thing in any sport is winning a championship. It doesnt matter if its 1 time now. 1 time in 5 years or 3 times in the next 6. Winning a championship is the whole goal. (This isnt really numbered in importance... Im just giving you an idea on how i will be judging teams)

1. You should be able to compete now. Doesnt necessarily mean you have to be ready to win a chip this year or the next... But you should at least be able to compete for one for now. IF you have a veteran team with a 2-3 year window with a legit chance to win it... then you will be rated high because you are doing your job as a GM to get yourself in the position to win one. If you have a younger team who can be a 4-5 seed, but have potential to be a 1-2 seed in 2-3 years.. then you will be rated high. I dont want to give away what i think makes a championship team, because i think thats a little unfair to those who already know how to build one.

2. Does your team fit together? You need to know your player personel. You need to know what their strengths and weaknesses are and you need to compliment them with players who go together with their strengths and can cover their weaknesses. Im not going to name drop here for examples of bad fits... Im sure most of you guys know what i mean.

3. This goes along with #2. You better have a good coach. Im not saying you cant win without one of the top 5 coaches in the league, but if your waiting around til round 13 to pick a no name guy so you can have a stronger roster of players... chances are you will be penalized for that. Talent can win games in the regular season... But good coaches win in the playoffs. My suggestion to you... after about 4 or so picks when you have a general idea in what direction you are going in... You better be thinking of head coaches that will fit with your player personel. Dont create a 3pt shooting team and then draft Scott Skiles to be your head coach. That doesnt make much sense.

4. Can you win a chip in 3-4 years? For those of you who like to go in a younger direction, that is fine. Its not something you will be penalized for. But if you build your team around a bunch of rookies and second year players... I cant give you a high ranking. Im not a fortune teller and i cant predict who is going to be great and who is going to be a bust. If this was 2001 and you were to try to build around Kwame Brown/Eddy Curry/ and Darius Miles... You would be a failure of a GM. Although it seems like a great idea to build a team around those type of players giving their hype, you just never know how they will turn out. So if your going to draft young... Dont draft "too young"

5. Contracts- Really contracts shouldnt matter too much. If you can build a great team and still be under the cap, then i would definately give your brownie points for that. But the main goal is to win a chip, and you should draft the players who give you the best chances to win one. Now Having cap space is nice to have if you wanna make trades or have the room to sign a big name down the line, but being over the cap isnt going to kill you. Unless i think your team sucks... then you better hope your not in cap hell.

6. Injuries - Injuries are tough to judge, because you dont know if that person can come back strong or end up being an injury plagued player for the rest of their career. I wont fault you for drafting a player with injury problems if they are a great player. You chose skill every day of the week, but if you have a couple injury prone players on your roster.. well that affects your regular season because you dont know whether or not a few of your starters will be playing most of the season or not. And if you have a player prone to injury, make sure you have serviceable backups.

7. Thread Pimping - My biggest pet peeve in BAT are the huge 1000 megapixel pictures of players and all the videos people post in their pimp thread. To be honest... im not going to watch your videos. I dont have the time to sit through 60 5 minute youtube videos. I watch a lot of basketball so i have a pretty good idea on most players. What i would rather see are smaller pictures (maybe the size of our avatars or slightly bigger) and a write up on each player. Tell me why you drafted him, or why he fits your team. What he brings to your team. Why he has the potential to be a top 5 PG. Is this players overall numbers skewed because of a horrible first 20 games of the season? But did he finish really strong? What were his numbers in that time frame. Paragraphs do not turn me off, i can read 12 small paragraphs before i can finish a 5 minute highlight video.

These are the basic parameters in which i will be using to judge your teams. Obviously #7 doesnt hold much weight in terms of how good i think your team is.. Im just saying it would piss me off a bit if i had to sift through all the teams with a bunch of gigantic pictures and video clips. I think large pictures are not necessary.

Bump. Judging parameters set. I have no numbers system, but this is how i am going to judge the BAT.

I like Swisscheese's idea of splitting everybody into divisions. It would make trading much harder since you wouldn't want to trade in your division unless it was a no brainer type of deal. It would make drafting more important then having to try to fix your mistakes by trading to build a team. (My last 2 BAT's, i drafted pretty much every player on my team on my own) I think being able to draft a full team shows a tremendous amount of skill. I see way too many one sided trades in past BATS, adding this small change could help change that a bit.

i like my way better, but i'm glad there is something set in stone. i think you should try to find other people that can judge with this system as well.

i'm 100% behind your criteria, actually, mainly because i agree with #7. i understand it's "pimping" and pimping for a reason. but no one gives a flying **** about videos or pictures. only appropriate pictures are funny ones.

that being said, i am totally fine with this judging system, and i'm glad something is in place. i like the PO bracket system as well. i think this will be good

So I'm assuming that the results will be similar to power rankings?

Sort of. If we go with Swiss's idea, then I will do power rankings for each conference. Top 8 are playoff teams. And I'll probably even do a top 30 power ranking as well.

Also, just because u get a 1 seed, doesn't make you the automatic winner. Like I said, if u have a great win future team and are a 4 or 5 seed, I could pick you as my winner. Also I more then likely won't be the only judge, so my say isn't final. But I have my way of judging teams and I will pick a winner. Or maybe even pick 3-4 winners.
