Knicks getting no respect

Post#1 » by goldenbrandon » Mon Jul 15, 2013 5:12 pm

Just listening to all these so called experts pisses me off. Everyone has Knicks as 4th 5th seed or worse. Did they forget we finished second in east? If it wasn't for Miami winning 27 in a row we could have won the east. We're bringing back essentially same team minus copeland but we bring in bargs maybe and maybe metta. We're better also. I'm not sold on nets. Kg and pierce both old. Nets have no bench and rookie coach. Still think we're better. Bulls get Rose back but so what. They lose Nate and a team that struggle to score. Pacers don't scare me. We would have won that series if jr hit a few shots. I still think we're the team to de throne heat.

I love bringing back smith. Hardaway jr looks really good so far. I like Pablo back. Would love Kmart back. By Christmas everyone will be on Knicks bandwagon

Yeah, what can you do. It's frustrating. Same thing happened before last season. All those teams were still expected to finish ahead (even the Bulls without Rose was supposed to be "good enough" to come in 2nd overall). The Nets before last season was clearly better than the Knicks. Blah, blah, blah. The only thing the Knicks can do is to go out there and show that they are better than what folks think.

Yep. Just gonna have to surprise everyone again. Just like last year

I envision us getting a top 3 seed this year cause everyone's overrating the Nets, Bulls, Pacers. I mean, who knows if DRose is gonna have the same explosiveness and "muscle memory" that he had before?

Nets I feel are gonna be just like the Lakers of last year, with fancy names and no chemistry.

Pacers overachieved last year and i don't know if they're gonna be able to do as much this year with so much pressure and spotlight on them.

I'm just overly excited about season. Amare will hopefully stay healthy. Bargs will prove to be a good pickup. I'm certain he will contribute more than Novak and camby. Hardaway jr will be good too. Really hoping to resign Martin and bring in peace. Nate for the vet min would be huge too. My projection

Felton/Pablo/Nate
Shump/jr/Hardaway
Melo/peace/Leslie
Bargs/amare
Tyson/martin

All right, let me just say this out loud. Because I wanna get this straight in my head. You're saying that we should ignore Miami's dominance? We ignore the Nets adding 3 to 4 very good pieces that fit? We ignore the Bulls getting back a player who has HOF talent? And we ignore the team that beat us in the playoffs?

I'm right about that, right? That's correct, that's your story?

I don't get it, the pacers are the better team, the nets are the better team ON PAPER, Chicago with Rose again. So what do you expect the analysts to do? Use last years weak ass conference as a barometer to predict the standings?

We don't know if brooklyn will jell, we don't know if rose will ever be an mvp caliber player ever again, we don't know if the pacers with granger will be better or not, but they are predicting, simple as that. Its a part of their job.

And yet, they still won. Why didn't one of those other injury-riddled teams win the division?

Hint: Because they didn't win as many games as the Knicks did. Funny how that works.

I agree, the Knicks aren't getting much love...

Look, the Knicks lacked another shooter/scorer last season, which was most evident in the playoffs. Copeland gave the Knicks some of that, and I did want to bring him back, but what if coaches figure him out. He was getting a good amount of space on his shots last year, I think with a season worth of scouting, if Copeland doesn't diversify his game a bit, he could become Novak 2.0...Bargnani is a proven commodity, and holds a lot more value as a 3rd option Vs a 1st option.

The Knicks brought back Prigioni, who was a catalyst during the Knicks best stretch run. With Kidd gone, he'll get more playing time. And the way he plays the game, there's not much teams can do to figure him out. He runs pick and rolls, can nail the open 3 and he's a pest defensively so we know what we're getting. If the Knicks can add Artest, bring back Martin and add another big + the addition of Hardaway, how are the Knicks not better? They have chemistry, familiarity with one another and a coach they're comfortable playing under, all being advantages over teams that either turned over their roster or have new coaches going into the season.

The Knicks surely aren't getting their fair shake. Brooklyn made the splashier move, so they will garner most of the attention until the games start. Chicago will have new pieces + reintegrating Rose, Indiana has some question marks with their reintegration of Granger, the Nets are the biggest question mark of all...new coach with no experience, core additions that look great on paper, but when you take a deeper look, Garnett is more effective at the 5 than the 4, and now he'll be asked to be a full time 4 again which is not to his advantage at this point in his career...Pierce, Williams and Johnson all love the ball in their hands because that's when their most effective. None of the 3 are great off the ball players, though Pierce would be the best of the 3...not to mention Lopez is most effective when he can isolate down on the blocks. Tons of question marks with the Nets and to an extent, even Chicago and Indiana. Heck, aside from Miami, the Knicks have the fewest unknown variables that could be detrimental to the team in the East so far, while fortifying some of their glaring weaknesses, though they still have some holes to fill before we can confidently peg them as better than the 54 win team they were last season.

Yep. And The Knicks, with their geriatric crew of last season missed more combined games out of their rotation players than any team in the division.
