Since Tex Winter is the guy who invented it every play someone runs in the triangle offense they have to send him a dollar.

That's why Phil has to get paid so much because he sends so much of it to Tex for the rights to run the ofense.

Anyone that wants information on how Phil thinks about basketball or life in general should just read his book "11 rings". The triangle just references the spacing the offense uses and is predicated on ball + player movement. The offense as he states many times is not created for melo or kobe it's created for the other guys b/c it allows those guys to get going and feel included.

MJ actually dubbed it the "equal opportunity offense" which is why stars don't buy in b/c it takes away shots from them

Did he? I just know that he won the championship in 11 of the 13 seasons he spent as a player in the NBA, which is damn remarkable.
