Around the NBA...Off Season Edition 2

Post#1 » by j4remi » Tue Aug 5, 2014 11:58 am

Latest post to get discussion going in the older thread...

Last thread here:
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1329089

Latest Wiretap news:

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves have a "handshake" deal in place on a trade of Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love.

Brian Windhorst said on air Monday that a "handshake" deal is in place between the teams, but that the two cannot come out and say it publicly yet, as Wiggins can't be traded until August 23rd.

The Philadelphia 76ers are expected to be included in the deal with Thaddeus Young going to the Wolves. Windhorst reported that Anthony Bennett could be sent to the 76ers as part of the deal.

Latest discussion worthy bits in the locked thread...

Rasho Brezec wrote:Cuban's right, IOC like any other organization ran by rich old dudes is corrupt, that's why they're so reluctant on making changes. Same with FIFA, UEFA and FIBA.

But Cuban's also still a moron with this idea of NBA organizing a World Cup. Like this would stop FIBA from having its own, we'd just have two World Cups and a diluted talent pool in both of them.

This idea Stern had was still the best one:

One option is revisiting the proposal former NBA commissioner David Stern unsuccessfully tried to introduce before the 2012 London Games, when Stern advocated turning the men's Olympic basketball tournament into an under-23 event, as seen in world soccer.

Nobody cares about basketball part of Olympics outside of USA, just focus your attention on lobbying for that change and care about World Cup like the rest of the world does.

Bosch, who helmed the Biogenesis clinic in Coral Gables, Fla., surrendered Tuesday morning, according to ESPN, and faces an afternoon court hearing on one count of conspiracy to distribute testosterone.

Several others tied to Biogenesis are expected to be charged as well, including a longtime associate of Bosch's, Carlos Javier Acevedo, who faces the same charge.

So Plumblee made USA over Millsap? That is odd.

I'm assuming it's because of the height difference.

Smart move for LeBron. Takes pressure of lower body, gets back to his weight at SF (where he'll be playing most of his time this year), and it's not going to take away from his aggressiveness.

He'll probably start to eat more carbs as the season gets closer.

Really I thought the whole thing was scrapped. I guess that was just for a theatrical release. I was looking forward to seeing it. I'll have to check it out

I'll feel bad for Andre or Cousins if they choose Plumlee over them, would be embarrassing.

No, it wasn't scrapped, but it was low budget. I saw it online, but it was probably a straight to DVD movie.

I don't see a real huge difference in James in these old pics compared to the new pic.
