Triangle Offense breakdown and ways Melo will be used

Post#1 » by slang711 » Sun Sep 14, 2014 6:33 pm

A small sample of how Melo and the Knicks will utilize the Triangle offense, post play (catering to Melo's efficiency) and usage of cutters:

Is it me or does coach Nick keep referring to Jeremy Tyler as Galloway?

Check out this coach Nick angling for an assistant spot on Phishers coaching staff lol.

Jokes a side I think the triangle could just be the type of system that teaches Melo to pick his shots which I think he has done a better job of in recent years but this could push him to the next level.

why the triangle is good for melo, he doesnt have everything on his shoulders and the shots that he wants literally he can have. he wont depend on feltons bricks when double teamed but instead he will depend on jose for that open shot or jr, hardaway and shump(im okay with shump taking the open shot his confidence level is never down). He has options, which woodson never gave him. he actually has options to pass to a cutter pass, out to a guard, post up or take a midrange. This is why many believe he will thrive is because the triangle is perfect for his skillset especially being an underrated passer, i expect an assist or two added to his assists average.

He is a former HS basketball coach. I don't think he's a hack though. He produces a lot of basketball training videos that many other coaches use. It's definitely very informative for the laymen. But yeah, not sure why he would think Tyler (who's a 6'10" PF/C) is Langston Galloway (who's a 6'3" guard)...especially since "Tyler" is on the back of the jersey.

To me he always seemed like a hack. He gets some many things wrong in every video that it's clear he has no grasp of the plays most teams are running.

I have no respect for that guy.

Nahhhh, he doesn't jinx anyone fam.

It's just his interpretation of how the team can run plays & be fluid. We might run it the complete opposite of what he's saying but he wouldn't have been wrong in giving his opinion on it.
