OT- Tobias Harris

Post#1 » by kNiCk_PriDe » Fri Feb 27, 2015 12:49 am

I know his names been brought up before on this site, but as we move closer to free agency and pieces are moving and off the board, I think its worth discussing realistically. I think Tobias Harris is a good viable option for us, and I dont think he'll cost the full max, but thats yet to be determined. He's a solid 6'8-6'9, and a good rebounder for his position. I think him and melo can play together and interchange at the 3-4. He's 22 and will only get better. He's gonna learn from one of the best at his skill set. We will have to get a pure center out there. One more thing- He wants to be here.

really? I think melo, tobias harris, and a pure center either from free agency or thru the draft (Okafor) would give us a great front court. We still have enough money to go out and get a pg, and 2

Tobias and Melo are basically the same player and I don't think that is good roster balance.

He's kind of sucked lately...he's basically Melo with less offensive game and higher energy. If we got rid of Melo I would want him tho

Tobias Harris will be a good get if we strike out in FA and therefore opt to get insurance in case Melo wants out.

If things collapse next season, we could offer Melo a trade to the Lakers or Bulls for fillers and two unprotected 1st round draft picks. Then we do a proper rebuild with our 2015 Top Pick, Tobias (who will take Melo's role in our offense) and our young guys.

"They don't fit together well. (Amare) Stoudemire doesn't fit well with Carmelo (Anthony)," said Jackson, when asked to expand on "clumsy."

Same applies to Tobias

High chance of being a Knick if Phil strikes out on his primary options in free agency.

I think Towns and Harris would work the same way Towns and Melo would work. Tobias is basically Melo 2.0 or Melo-lite. Melo has worked well at the PF position with Chandler, Kmart and Copeland playing the 5. As I said in a different thread, Towns has the best skills of these 3 guys in him.

i think melo and tobias could work but only with a center like towns and we would need another good defensive big if we are going all-in on the small ball...

tobias is right behind butler and kawhi as the best young FA available and he's probably a lot more attainable than those two... and in some ways better... he's a good offensive player with a good amount of growth left in his game...

Would prefer an elite 3&D SF with Melo and Towns in the frontcourt but maybe this can work.

I'm not inclined to want to pay him max dollars. He hasn't been able to win surrounded by decent talent in Orlando, which is a red flag.
