Knicks vs Clippers PG Thread: Ledo Is A Bum

I just want a detailed analysis of how Ledo looked. Please, no one-liners.

has a little JR in him.

When he is set and in rhythm he has a nice jumper. He has a good crossover but he is another player that needs to get physically stronger. Too many times a simple reach in or slap of the ball knocks it out of his hands.

He also makes some good passes but at times he is way too out of control and doesn't have a plan. Does a lot of jump passing, which is very turnover prone because you are already in the air.

He was playing more of the scoring guard role today and I would like to see him more in the shved role to see if he can create for others. I would play him some big minutes over the next 2 games. If he doesn't impress I would let him go and sign another player and give them a 10 day chance.

Thanks for the breakdown. Hmmm. Sounds like I'm gonna have to make sure I catch the next game just to take a look at him. I'd have watched this one if I knew Fish was gonna play him long mins. I didn't bother considering he wasn't getting any burn in the other games. I'm rooting on him to stick. We need players with talent who are young. It's all up to him now since he's getting the mins to show something. Hopefully he shakes off the rust, makes the adjustment and shows enough promise to get an invite to our SL team.

People were calling Austin Rivers trash tho, a while ago. So I'm still hopeful for Ledo. A lot of these young cats who didn't attend college or were one and done just need reps. Rivers is a perfect example.

Ledo could be better..he needs actually players who can make shots when he passes the ball to them. He still look light years better than Larkin who just runs around the court scared to shoot

Subjected myself to this garbage in person again, and the clear highlight (other than DJ) was the halftime show. Some freak of nature who could do crazy f*cking things with his body. Much better than the Knicks.

Watched the first half and missed the second. I still like Ledo more than THJr...but, again, didn't see the second half so no idea what happened. Also, like I said in the game thread, it's like asking if you'd rather step in cow **** or horse ****.

Cleanthony Early will be the next Draymond Green or Khris Middleton in terms of being a second round steal.

Ledo looked ok finished with 12 points in 26 minutes. Had too many turnovers though. He just needs to play more. Ledo has talent.

Thanks. So why the PG thread title calling him a bum? TO's are to be expected being that he hasn't gotten any mins to get into any type of rhythm and he's probably still adjusting to the speed of the NBA game.

Because Knicks fans are notoriously impatient with young players. That is why its so hard to develop young talent in NY. Ledo has talent. he just needs playing time to develop his game.

I dont know what this means but I guess you came up with that assessment after his playing just a few minutes with the Knicks. I think Ledo has talent but just needs some coaching and an opportunity to play to develop his game.

Ricky Ledo was born in 1992. He was a college freshman in 2012/2013 at Providence, where he didn't play a single game because he was academically ineligible. Despite that, he thought it was a better idea to play pickup games and do individual drills instead of playing actual organized basketball on a competitive level. He first experienced that in 2013/2014 when he was drafted by the Mavericks.

Tobias Harris, for comparison, was also born in 1992. He was a college freshman in 2010/2011.

There is no untapped potential with Ricky Ledo. There is just wasted potential, and that's only based on flashy highlight mixes and no actual sample of his play. 3 years of development down the drain because he couldn't mature to the point of his average peer. He'll be lucky to become a rotational player one day after he goes through some humility lessons like Whiteside did.
