Knicks have both. So I say, keep both and keep building. Not sure what fans are expecting back in a trade at the moment. It's not like there's reports of a deal on the table that hinges on either of these things, and the Knicks are too far from contention to think they are just one trade away. Why force RoLo or the pick down other teams' throats when Robin has been fantastic, and we have a chance to keep him AND continue to draft pieces of our core.

When you sign a player, and when you draft a player, you give nothing up in return. When you trade for a player, by definition, you lose something in the process. Knicks are not at that stage.

While I love keeping our guys, I will say that if the opportunity arose this summer (of all summers) to obtain a key piece and 2018 was the sticking point, I may give in. We need a guard with penetration ability. If it is the right player and at the right price, and removes, say a Jose Calderon in the process, then IMO it is a deal we almost have to do. Obviously no trading unprotected picks, but if we were to move say Jose Calderon and 2018 for Jrue Holiday (for example), then we are spending less on a pg than we would via FA and keeping open cap space for another fish.

Similarly, I would entertain a deal where we move 2018 to get a guy we want THIS year. IE TIMOTHE LUWAWU, if we can use 2018 to get that pick.

Gone, should be the days, of using something like 2018 to get a guy like Brandon Jennings.

Good points. I do agree.. of course if the right deal came along, you make it. I just disagree with some fans' notion that we should be shopping RoLo and the pick just because it seems like the right thing to do. It seems like we should go for the gusto and use whatever assets we have to get better next season. I would rather grow from within.

Keep Rolo. He's a good center, especially at the price and he's allowing KP to get a knack for rebounding. I'm against trading Rolo because we'd get f*cked in the trade anyway and end up with Jose 2.0 for another 3 years
