The kid put a clinic in summer league and has been amazing in college. Seriously he is a big sleep and fits a huge need with 3 point shooting.

Not sure we can compare them, isn't Randle a PG (score first btw) and Baker is mostly a SG but can bring the ball up for sure.
Maybe he does end up being a player and like I said in another thread, I think we should hold onto him (or one of the other young guards out there.)

Da Gawd of summer league

I think the Knicks will keep him around since we have some open roster spots. They have been eyeing him up and he played in a good system in Standford. Seems like the type of player we like.

He deserves an invite to camp for damned sure. Right now we have a few spots and some young guys vying for them, I'd like to see us pull a legit PF into the mix too. A third string PG is a real need though with two PG's off injury, however, that uncertainty might make it more palatable to add a vet and try to stash/develop Randle in the D-league (of course, that only works if no one else steals him).

True...guess it will be a battle between Baker, Sasha and Randle. Maybe we dont guarantee their contracts and keep 2 of those guys after training camp?

I think Phil is waiting to sign a vet big guy with the minimum and the other spot should go to a 3rd string pg. That will be 15 and invite 2 more to trainng camp. As it stands now the back up to Noah is Kyle O'Quinns to lose. Phil is giving him the chance to claim it. In my humble opinion the big man vet and 3rd stringer pg are just insurance players in case Noah and Rose cant play all 80 games.

Everyone's contract on that list except Baker is fully guaranteed for at least 2016-2017 (even Justin Holiday's contract).

If I'm not mistaken there are 15 spots, but two players are left inactive on a game night. So there's still 2 opening to fill even if those guys don't dress every night.
