100%... I don't want Jennings back tho

he's been pretty fun off the bench

he shouldn't start but he should come back at the right price

He's been fun. Maybe I'm being too critical but he's very erratic and plays bad defense

he plays bad physical defense because he's so small but he plays excellent annoyance defense and forces turnovers

he's very erratic

He should never be on the starting lineup

Thanks Davinci. Now I'm thinking about an even worse Noah...how is it possible?!?

Now that I think about it, it probably isn't possible. If it does, then he would be out of the league.

By the way, holdin it down for CT too. I'm from Milford!

Very interesting idea. I would seriously consider it.

Yeah, you are right. Calderon had a higher PER than Dragic at the same age..

I repeat, this is one of the most **** comparisons I've seen in a while. Dragic is a better scorer who is way more versatile, can shoot off of the dribble and off screens (unlike Jose who can only be a spot up shooter because of his slow **** release), is a better defender, looks to push the pace, and actively attacks the paint. He's also way more creative in his passing because, unlike Jose, he is not only looking to make the safe pass (a trait that puts pressure on defense because it forces them to always be ready).

 I get it - European PG = European PG.

Dragic versus Calderon. Didn't think this would even be an argument after watching him the last two years.

One netted two first round picks. One required two 2nds just to dump his expiring deal.

I say we trade Melo for Butler and go the Bulls route.

why would melo agree on a trade to the bulls lmao

My post was facetious, but since you brought it up, why would the Bulls trade for Melo? Lmao

The only reason I could think of is floor spacing.

I absolutely would.

He's got a good deal too. We won't be able to get an upgrade for 17/per. Not even close.

If we'd never signed Noah, we could go for Dragic AND Whiteside for some firsts, O'Quinn, and cap space.

Wishful thinking since Miami gave up two firsts for him and would want back a good to great package, and we don't have many assets.

Doesn't Dragic lead the league in drives per game? And if he isn't the leader he's among the top guys in that category. How the hell does anybody watch Goran Dragic play and think Calderon? They couldn't be more different.

Solid points.

For me it comes down to comparing the players last year and this year. I am not concerned with anything from Jose when he was the same age. Right now getting rid of Jose was good for us and bringing Goran could be good for us... in my opinion

Sure, but that's assuming that they think they can compete with that team. I think they would lose more with butler than what they would gain with Melo.

in addition to all the reasons I gave earlier that made perfect sense the main reason not to do this would be to instead build a team on the same timeline as KP

Dragic is not on that timeline

If we are going to keep and still trying to win around Melo, yes I would trade for Dragic in a heartbeat. Getting any sort of defense out of the point guard position will turn our season around. Plus he is a better shooter and passer on a great contract. I'm surprised we haven't heard any word of a trade like this happening. Makes sense for both Miami and New York.

If we are going to trade Melo and blow this team up it changes the situation. I probably still would because he is a solid contract and could help groom a new point guard that is younger. On the flip side, he wouldn't help us tank for that good pick. So not sure.

End of the day, if we are keeping Melo, Phil should make this happen.

But it's still important to have a PG who knows what he's doing so that KP is not operating in a offense that has no, or little, direction. Plus, if we draft a young PG, I'm sure we'll have to bring him along and it'll take a year or two for that player to take over.
