The problem with signing role players at market value is that they have little to no chance of helping your team really be a winner. Whoever the best players are their value over their price tag becomes the measuring stick. Chandler Parsons may be worth his contract, BUT compared to max players like KD and LeBron, he gives you much less for your money. Basically just eats space. For a playoff team, this makes sense, for a building team, it makes little. Jrue will be an option for sure this summer, one worth considering, but he is by no means a panacea. Remember all the "Max Conley" stuff? That only makes sense if you are all in.

Personally, I think Jrue is better than a "role player". His issue hasn't been talent or effectiveness it's been whether he can stay on the court or not. When he is on the court he is a top 10 pg. If we're talking 20-25 mill a year, I think you do it in a heartbeat. He'd still be making way less than the max and he'd be giving you around the same production as Conley as long as he's healthy...

Just don't want the 76ers to get him, he's like their missing piece, 20 - 25 mill sounds about right

Jrue nor Conley to me is a 25 million dollar piece (you are talking nearly a quarter of your cap). If he is worth 20, he will surely get 25, if not more...
