Soto is fun as hell to watch play. He is really good at the plate and knows it, and will let you know it too. He talks sh*t

The last Yankee that I can remember had this kind of vibe was Ricky Henderson. I was too young to remember when Deion played with us but Henderson i remember vividly. He stood out.

Holmes did not make that save easy.

Also Volpe and Torres, those two should not had Judge even make a play on that very shallow fly.

I mean listen. I don't give a f*ck

If Hal doesn't pay Soto top dollar he needs to SELL THE TEAM

The Old Man would not hesitate.

Whatever happens, it's gonna take until the off-season. Boras and Soto are not gonna sign an extension now and I can't blame either of them.

That said, Soto needs to be re-signed first day of free agency, which is the day after the World Series. The only good reason that shouldn't happen is because the team is out celebrating #28.

Even though I wasn't alive when he played for the Yankees, I see Reggie Jackson in Soto. The similarities in their demeanor are almost identical.

The Dodgers have had such a mediocre start and are fortunate that they play in an easy division. But paying a guy $325 million to have a 4.50 ERA after the first month of the season doesn't look good on their part.

Reggie was before my time too  my first season that I can remember is 1988.

But I see why you say that. Soto's confidence and calmness is so high you could easily confuse it with arrogance. Reggie knew he was the sh*t and so does Soto

I love it. Let Judge be "the Captain" and all that. That's his role as our leader. But Juan Soto gives us some personality and fire that we haven't had in quite some time.

I'm fine with not getting Yamamoto but we still could have added another starter. :noway:

The late 80's was a difficult time to be a Yankee fan, not only was the team awful but they were second fiddle to the Mets. Thank goodness I started watching baseball in the early 90's back when Dewayne Staats and Tony Kubek were calling the games on WPIX and MSG while John Sterling and Michael Kay were on WABC radio.

I really liked Reggie for many years, I even had a poster of him as a kid. But then he joined the Astros organization and began to talk crap about the Yankees. I mean if the man had a problem with Hal and the front office he should have at least kept it private instead of opening up his mouth.

I look at Soto as a guy who is confident in the field and is good with the media and with his teammates. The complete opposite of a guy like Barry Bonds, who was an absolute douche on and off the field.

It is almost impossible to disagree on that.

A bit off topic of a question. What did you think of Butch Beard as a coach? The reason I ask is because when I started following the Nets he was the guy on the bench.

Beard didn't have a lot to work with on the Nets
because the team back in that time was filled with a bunch of selfish ass holes.

Once Drazen died, that was the beginning of the end for that franchise.

I think the Nets would have continued to thrive had Daly never quit. Chuck was one of those coaches who could win with superstars and was successful without them. When he turned down the Knicks job before taking the Orlando gig I was upset.

Chuck managed to get the best out of Derrick Coleman and Kenny Anderson but even he had enough of their garbage.

Anywho, Nestor is on the mound today. Hold onto your butts.

Stanton is not in the line up.

I am so looking forward to watching Trent Grisham bat 6th, not!

Yankees are about to have another game in which they'll wait until the 5th or 6th inning to score.

The reality is that this team does not become watchable until about the 7th inning.

Return to New York Knicks
