Well we absolutely wouldn't have signed Felton right? So the real answer lies in the delta between Felton, who was a league average PG in 12-13 and Lin. Who was ... not much better than league average in 12-13. The backup was Pablo, I guess maybe Felton might have come as a backup? He played like ass in Denver and wasn't a hot free agent.

But yes, the only real indefensible sin was simply letting him go for nothing.

It was a 10 game stretch or something like that and, Melo was injured during that time IIRC. Melo came back and Lin was injured. No one sabotaged anything. They just laughed AFTER THE SEASON at the ridiculous contract HOU gave him that he never lived up to. He was out of the league not long after that. Bounced around and NEVER played like he did for those 2 weeks when no one scouted him!
