I dunno, Carlisle is a championship level vet coach… in the playoffs along with Hali against us… I’m more concerned against them than the younger inexperienced Magic players and coach.

Don’t need Hali channeling the ghost of Reggie Miller and putting any more 20+ & 20+ games on us.

All of the above are to be taken seriously but Miami is the only one with a proven knockout punch in the playoffs. As long as Spo is there and they have talent they're incredibly dangerous. I'd just hate to move up to 3 or 2 and then for our troubles have to play those bastards off the bat. Let them fight Boston or Milwaukie first, por favor.

Chips will fall as they will though.

Yea I want no part of Miami these PO. I know they’re not as good as last year by a lot, but still. PO are a different game, especially with that team.

I'd vastly prefer Magic or Pacers in R1.

magic is the best matchup for us

1/ shoot the least amount of threes
2/ non space C keeps ihart/mitch in paint area
3/ non elite dribble drive kickout guard

Pacers are the worst matchup for us because they have a billion options with Turner and can keep the paint completely clear. it neutralizes our defensive strength.

The Miami Heat of the playoffs are not the same Miami Heat of the regular season.

I am legitimately looking forward to Denver wiping the floor with the Lakers.

Agreed - don't think we lose to Miami this year. Boston, yes.

I agree. Halliburton and Siakam are dangerous. That’s all you need to know. Ridiculing such talent is very stupid … btw he had 26 & 12 the game before iirc

Weird how a 9th place team has more than double the attempts of anyone else. How to explain that.

Every year there's a fast pace team like Indiana and every year they're exposed. We were talking about the King's offense last season like this.

The same explanation as to why they are on national TV almost every week.

It's over 2 seasons and they play pretty fast. It's also net attempts not just attempts, it's accounting for free throws against

Pace adjusted, they're 5th in FTA this year at 23.8 per100. Last year they were 1st at 26.0 per100, 2nd place being the Knicks at 25.8. Similar story with the free throw rates, they're towards the top but not in 1st

For reference, Embiid was taking 11.9 FT per game this year, LeBron and AD are at 12.2 combined per game. We've been down this road before, you gotta argue that the league is collectively not calling fouls on the Lakers because LeBron, and for some reason they waited until last year to do so, since this doesn't hold up for before 2023.
BaF Lakers:

Darius Garland/Cory Joseph
Klay Thompson/Shaedon Sharpe
Keldon Johnson/De'Andre Hunter
Evan Mobley/Tari Eason
Nic Claxton/Draymond Green

Bench: Leonard Miller, Jett Howard, Markquis Nowell, Kennedy Chandler, Day'Ron Sharpe

This seems highly suspicious that a team who ranks near the bottom on drives to the rim can rack that many FTAs.

Is this the NBA or WWE? The lines are becoming blurred.

Bridges is not someone you build your team around. Green has the kind of talent you could.
And NJ would have gotten their firsts back. OUCH

BRIDGES coming here as a FA will be epic.
NJ are morons.

Patty Mills might be their Lowry of this year...

Rozier has found his place with them from what I've seen

Rozier is a good scorer. The question for him will be how he plays on the defensive end.

We lose against Giannis and the Celtics, not against the Heat if you ask me.

Only team that SHOULD beat us is the Celtics. Everyone else I have at even odds or better.

Wow. I'm shocked. I was following the Raptors closer early this season when he came to their Gleague team and played a game or two up with the big club. Had a longish postgame interview and I was struck by how sincere and well spoken he is. I joked at the time he should skip playing and go right into broadcasting. Then began playing more after the OG and Siakam trades and Poeltl injury. Decent looking back-up stretch big, nice passer. Had a nice moment exchanging jerseys with brother Michael Jr in Denver a couple of weeks ago.

Seems like such a likable young man, and with him trying to establish a career in the league it's hard for me to believe he's mixed up in this.

real nasty work betting on yourself to suck and take yourself out of the game on purpose. Also pretty wild that people are gambling on some g league guy scoring under 5 points in a game. Are people really betting on things like that? If you are, you probably have a gambling problem.

It's not shocking. This was bound to happen. And it will continue to happen if something doesn't change.
