I’ll put myself in the mind of a sixer fan.
Embiid hasn’t gotten out of the 2nd round. He was having an amazing season and they were the 2nd seed, but of course he got hurt again. Their window with him is closing since his injuries aren’t stopping.
They fall to 7th, not a normal 7th seed, and get to face the Knicks without their All NBA PF, not a normal 2nd seed to be fair. They view themselves as the favorite.
Add the whole NYC vs Philly thing and it’s understandable why they’re freaking out.
But yes, nobody wants to lose to the Knicks. Our team has largely been a joke for 25 years. No fanbases want to let us get over the hump, have to deal with our pent up frustration, and end up in some drunken sidetalks for all of eternity lol.
In game 3 I expect the refs to swallow their whistles a bit against us and the sixers to come out with everything they got. Series far from over. Handle bizniz.
