We need to throw double teams at Maxey since Embiid is hobbled and tired.

I actually think the way we're guarding the Sixers makes sense. We don't really have great personnel to deal with Maxey but we do have the right kind of team to deal with Embiid. Throwing the kitchen sink at him and making him work/turn the ball over/lose his efficiency has helped us win all 3 of our games. The one home game they won was off of crazy contested Embiid jumpers and then Maxey had his "act of god" moment last game. Maxey will likely have another good game but I'm willing to bet he can't get near 50 again and so far the Sixers have only proven they can beat us when one of those 2 has an outlier great game. Meanwhile we've beaten them in 2 games with Brunson shooting like crap... Our role guys have thoroughly outplayed theirs, on the whole, these first 5 games.

Gameplan has gotta be to keep Embiid and Maxey combined somewhat under control. They are going to get theirs but it can't be an efficient 70-80 points it's gotta be more like 55-70 tops.

We also have to blitz the hell out of Non-Embiid minutes. That's where we can build our lead. Sixers have not been able to be competent without him on the floor.

I agree, but the Knicks didn't lose that because Precious wasn't playing. Knicks lost that because they lost focus. Robinson played A+ defense on Joel in the 4th.

we've been doubling more and more as the series has gone longer


our offensive rebounding differential has really shrunk. and when it was there, it was our ability to eat and occupy space down low. it was actually to box out Embiid and let our guards and forwards fly in.


point being,


when the gameplan is to double Embiid, he has been happy to pass. he hasn't bulldozed the defender to force a shot.

we should play precious as it gives us more help defense in this case and our rotations are stronger.



mitch/ihart should play less, or, when he does play, its 1on1 with Embiid and less doubling unless its mid post.

we cant play OG 45 minutes and ask him to defend Embiid in the 4th. it doesn't work like that.
