I feel the same about Bayless as you. But I do agree he will do good with Roy.

Uhm......Sorry, but I don't want to say nothing negative about the guy. Any positives and/or peoples opinions have already been beat to death, revived and shot killed and mammed already on this board.

hes a gonna be a great scorer in the league and playing with b roy in the backcourt with him wont hurt
his jumpshot is water and hes fast with the ball
but hes not a distributor
he seems really cocky and not in a good way
we need a leader and a guy other guys will want to play with
bayless has yet to show me he can do either

well I feel like this is beating a dead horse and would rather move on, but I suppose this is a good point because some people might wonder why others might consider him a good prospect. he was a better athlete than the supposed athlete westbrook (check their vert and speed times) and was also a better passer as well (at worse you could call it a wash). he was also a much better shooter (40.7% from 3 compared to 33.8%) and scorer (19.7 ppg compared to 12.2 ppg). westbrook's advantage is defense but there's a reason why defensive specialists still get taken in the second round. does anyone care about jeffries or mardy collins? it'd be one thing if they were two-way players (I do appreciate defense) but westbrook was a low scorer with a mediocre shooting percentage.

as far as in comparison to gordon, really the only main reason why I liked bayless more was because I thought bayless had a better shot at being an NBA pg than gordon, who I believe is strictly a sg.

it's not even that I really thought bayless was hot sh*t or anything. I liked mayo better for example. it's just that talent-wise, at the time we were drafting, I thought bayless was the BPA. I did have danilo next though (even ahead of gordon and westbrook).

as far as the being from arizona, I don't think it means that much, especially considering that lute olson left. however it is nicknamed "Point Guard U" and the fact that olson recruited bayless probably means that he saw something in him. and he had a track record of having a good eye for guard talent.

I think there's a backlash against scoring pgs and maybe that's why he fell but people seem to forget that chris paul scores 24 ppg and steve nash consistently scores over 20. there's nothing wrong with a pg prospect that scores 20 ppg on 46% shooting, 40.7% from 3 from a top school in this year's toughest conference that's known for producing NBA guards.

but now, who cares? he's a blazer so who gives a f*ck about him.
