Indeed he was, in 1994 while on the Pistons. Check him out from 0:35 to 1:00 in this clip, the infamous off the head dunk is included.
And look at Antonio Davis! As a contestant in the dunk contest!

Have to start to wonder if any of those momentary ohhs and ahhs were contributing factors to H2O's extensive knee damage and the price the Knicks had to pay for years on end.

Houston had hops. Shame on you for not knowing that. He didn't have to though. If I had a sweet jumpshot that was pretty much automatic, I wouldn't dunk either. I need me energy.

I was at that game versus the Raptors. I remember being stunned by Houston dunking on a man like that because he just took T-Mac to the hole and crowned him. If you saw it live it was so effortless.

Off topic, but is there a way around the "video not available" message? I can't see like 75% of the **** on youtube.

detroit coaches(when Houston was in detroit) said they used to have vertical leap contest, and Houston used to always win.. and that was with a healthy grant hill there also...

Re: tmac getting slammed on by a knicks legend
I can't link this, but I remember reading, van Gundy used to have suicide sprints to see who was in shape early in practice, and Houston would keep up with Spreewell.
I always thought of Spreewell as fast and Houston as average speed, but he wasn't. Houston was fast in a sprint and athletic and I think he was probably strong for a guard too. He just didn't use those skills very much as a knick. Maybe it was the knees that kept him from being what he could have been. Not sure.
Houston did have slow reaction time, and that was part of why he was a poor defender.

Embiid wanted to win so badly, he deliberately injured Mitchell Robinson.
Classy.
Classy.

Allan Houston was as fast as Spree and definitely stronger. He was a big 6'6, 200lbs (listed) guard which meant he probably went around 210 lbs or so. His problem was that he was laid back and fussy. He didn't like doing dirty work or going all out. Spree did that which gives people the perception that Spree was the athletic one. They both were.

When healthy Houston was one heck of a ballplayer! It's too bad he went down with injuries right when we acquired Marbury. I think their skills would have complemented each other perfectly and made for one heck of a back court!!
