Ooh Danilo's Cutting

Post#1 » by DMan101 » Sun Sep 7, 2008 10:48 pm

Knicks rookie Danilo Gallinari was excused from the NBA's Rookie Transition Program last week as he is currently back home in Italy, according to Newsday.

He has suffered from back soreness recently, but is expected to be in the States and ready for training camp.

If his back was the reason, I think he'd be in New York with a full set of doctors examining him and working with him.

More importantly, I just don't like that he's spending the whole offseason in Italy! I want him to have a nice penthouse in NYC like Jeter. I know, it's selfish of me, but whatever. Hopefully if he becomes a franchise player, he'll start being a part of the community in the offseason too.

The guy has been playing professionally for years now, I think he knows all about the rigors of pro life even if it's not in the USA. What you think they don't have BB groupies or drugs in Italy? haha...

Holy chit...somebody is actually trying to link him missing these classes to his back injury? What a reach man....oh, now I see who it is...lol, figgers. Yea, I guess those little school desks would be a strain on his back!... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA

actually, it's good information, though probably a little boring, not just street stuff, but it's orientation, how to tell a good investment plan from a con, probably some stuff on IRAs, and helpful tips like - don't buy 7 expensive cars with your first pay check. as well as stuff like how to handle interviews, crowds wanting autographs, etc, etc.

Gallinari may attend it next year.
Embiid wanted to win so badly, he deliberately injured Mitchell Robinson.

Classy.

^ It is good information. I have no idea what salary he was pulling while in the Italian league, but there are other issues unique to playing pro ball in the States -- the # of outside investors, tax issues, etc. and even though he was playing pro ball in Italy, it doesn't necessarily mean he was taught how to manage his money.

Just look at Sprewell. Experience doesn't teach fiscal responsibility.

Gallo didn't even have the guts to cut rookie orientation.
He had to ask to get excused.

Obviously not thug enough for the NBA.

Gimme a break..Europe is somewhere in between D League and the Pro's, and is quite different then the NBA or America for that matter. Ask Marcus Fizer.....DG needs to be here where he can learn the differences, regardless of the real reasons hes not here. Maybe hes not still hurt. But Lets hope its not because hes afraid of getting hurt again.....
