Sorry to be negative but...

Post#1 » by iLovethosedamnknicks » Thu Jan 29, 2009 9:12 pm

I dont post much but, I think next week will be a real reality check for us. So before everyone starts jinxing this team, lets be humble and accept this team for what it is. A 35 win team at best thats fun to watch, although thank g-d we got a decent future ahead of us with some cap room for 2010. :D

if someone offered me a deal that said 1-3 for the Boston, Cleveland, LA, Portland games, I'd probably take it.

The real test will be if we can actually force Lebron to play for real against us. The past times we have played the Cavs this season Lebron hasn't even been trying and they still destroy us. If we can force him to actually play hard, and lose by less than 15, then I am calling playoffs, 6th seed.

The Cavs game is a must win. If the knicks have any pride they will win that game. Lebron abused the knicks about them not playing defense. If thats not bulletin board material I don't know what is.

Of the three games, I could see us getting blown out in one of them, but I expect us to be very competitive in at leasst two of them. It will come down ib those games, as usual, to execution late. My prediction is that we will go 1-2. I would really like to head into this stretch with a 3-game win streak, taking care of Indiana on Saturday.

we can beat the blazers

the key is to get a win from LA, Cleveland, Boston

I dont think we can beat LA. We cant beat Cleveland our Boston either, but we do have a chance against them.

2-2 would be awesome

Ny has the biggest chance to beat Cleveland

Boston plays now as they are from other planet
LAL have a greta team and great bench
Portland is top 5 team at home..Roy, Aldridge, Oden

So Cleveland...

As long as you guys compete with those teams you should careless if you win. As long as your team can show the effort they did they did the last time they went to LA and Boston it will show continued growth.

Okay people, the game does not play on paper, this isnt "mort au pion" - so let the game play before calling the winner. To refresh your memories, the Knicks beat Boston already for this season. All their stars were there, so we can do it again. As for Lakers, they get beat by teams you dont expect to beat them(Bobcats), so we have a chance. Portland? They are good, so are we!

I like to be positive so I am expect Knicks to win all games.

Your right it is good to be grounded but nobody is expecting to win ALL three games. I think 1-2 with a couple close games is all people want. Yet, 2-1 is still a real possibility. Both the Cavs and the Celtics will be on the backside of back to backs. The Cavs are playing the Raptors, while the Celtics have a game against the Lakers. Hopefully they get tired out, though, i dont really know how they typically perform with back to backs; I'm count on this as a positive. We do play up to teams, so I wouldn't be surprised if we lose to the pacers than come out and win a couple against the good teams. Which actually leads me to believe the game verses the Pacers will actually says more about our character.

I have a feeling we win 2 out of 3 against LA, Boston, Cavs.
This team has to be excited about this home stance!

Mmm-mm-mer, i still think we can win 21 of our remaining games. That's if we can keep our current form going.

The next 3 are most likely losses though.

Reality check? You act as if these next 3 home games will decide the fate of our team. If we play well and stay in all 3 games and lose, I would take that as a positive and it would show this team is capable of making a run. We have 18 games left vs. .500+ teams. If we can go 6-12 or possibly 7-11 while taking care of business vs. the sub .500 teams (19 games left, we'd need to finish about 13-6), we'll be in the playoffs. 13-6 looks tough, but lets remember we're 7-5 at home vs. losing teams and have 9 of those game left at home. We also play Philly and the Bucks two more times, two teams we've went 0-5 against thus far. I'd say we have an excellent chance to dominate these remaining 18 games we have against losing teams (we've had our way with Jersey, Sacramento and Golden State and we play them 5 more times). So as long as we take care of business against losing teams and take anywhere between 5-7 games against .500+ teams the rest of the season, we should be in position to take the 7th or 8th seed.

I've already predicted in a past post that we ironically lose to Kobe and Lebron, but beat the defending champs.

One out of three.. ..Book it!

This is why we definitely have to beat Indie tonight.. ..definitely!
