Strengths: A versatile power forward with a high basketball IQ … While he only has decent size for his position, his tremendous length allows him to play much bigger … Extremely efficient scorer, he has made himself into a reliable inside threat (shows a nice mini hook over his left shoulder, is able to utilize an effective up and under and is also dangerous with a turnaround jumper) …

Strengths: Possesses an intriguing face up game, he has good quickness and regularly shows his ability to work off the dribble … He always had the ability to step out and shoot with range, but became a deadly option from beyond the arc during his final 10 collegiate games (he made 19/30 from long range during that time)… For a big man, his stroke is very smooth, he shoots the ball with good balance and is able to get good lift … He is a dangerous weapon setting screens on the ball as he loves to step out on pick and pop situations and is good at attacking the rotating defender because of his ability to sell the shotfake and then put the ball on the deck …

Strengths: Exceptionally good at moving without the ball, reads space and finds the openings in the gaps … During the 2nd part of his senior season, they ran him off staggered screens because of his ability to get open and knock down jumpers … Solid rebounder on both ends of the floor thanks to his length (but will need to attack the glass on a more consistent effort at the next level, as he won’t be able to get away with coasting like he did at times in college) … Very good shot blocker, has good timing and is aggressive coming from the weakside to contest shots … Has become consistent and reliable from the free-throw line …

The Boston Celtics hold the 21st and 22nd picks in Thursday's NBA Draft. Celtics General Manager Danny Ainge reportedly is looking to trade up in the draft, or package one of his picks to a team looking to add a prospect in the first round.

If Ainge does hang on to one of these picks, he needs to look into taking Saint Bonaventure’s Andrew Nicholson. Nicholson, like Ainge's first round pick last season, JaJuan Johnson is a four year senior that has similar post moves to Johnson, but has a slightly better outside game, equivalent to that of current Indiana Pacer, David West.

Nicholson is listed at 6'9" 234 lbs. and averaged 18.5 PPG and 8.4 RPG last season, as well as an impressive 43.4% from beyond the arc. If Boston can't re-sign Brandon Bass, someone like Nicholson, would fill into Bass' role nicely. Nicholson wouldn't start, but he would give the C's much needed production off their bench.

Nicholson, like many of the prospects in Thursday's draft has room for improvement. His biggest negative seems to be his lack of upper body strength, but once he gets into the Celtics condition program, you can expect him to bulk up. For the improvements Nicholson needs in his game, the Celtics have a great option at the end of their bench to improve his game. Who better to teach him, and grow his game, then with Doc Rivers? Rivers may not have an extreme willingness for playing his rookies, but being around such a solid coach and veteran team would help Nicholson's game grow

I wonder if we went with him simply because he was a guy we had worked out and Rob didn't have time to really go through the process himself. Or maybe that's just trying too hard to let Rob off the hook for what feels like a very disappointing pick.
