Heart & Hustle pt.2 likely on the way? I hope so, this guy brings alot of those 2 attributes to our team that we've been missing for some time. Glad to see it's official. Sorry if this topic may have not needed its own thread.

Go Magic!

p.s. - Does anyone know if we've officially signed Nicholson yet?

Three years with a team option on years two and three. If O'Quinn even emerges as a journeyman, this is a good deal for the Magic. And to be blunt, given the lack of capable centers in the NBA, there is really little to risk here.

A good job by GM Hennigan.

The O-Sen story:
O-Sen LINK

"It's pretty emotional," O'Quinn told the Orlando Sentinel on Wednesday night. "It's kind of like the final stage to all the work you've put in. It's another big day."

I like this deal for us very much. Bringing on a big man who hustles for cheap and two team options.

Yeah, I like the team options for years two and three as well. Little to no risk. I wish we handed out deals like that with Big Baby, Duhon and Jrich.

It's a great deal for us, but I don't think he will be a Lin level breakout star like some people on this board are imagining. If we still have Howard on the team I'd imagine Ayon would get minutes before him. From the video he reminds me a lot of BBD, in that he has a mid range jumper, so we might be able to use him at PF if there is foul trouble for BBD/Nicholson

Undersized but has a 7'5 wingspan and an automatic mid-range shot. If he bulked up a bit I think he could handle being a center quite well.

I'm loving our front court depth (as long as Dwight is here).

Congratulations to KO for working hard and earning this opportunity. I wish him a long & successful career in the league.

LOL? I'm pretty sure if Jesus Christ was our GM we couldn't get veterans to accept deals with not one but TWO team options.

Magic GM Rob Hennigan came away very impressed with O’Quinn following the Summer League. He said that the center has a chance to stick in the NBA for several years because of his willingness to do the dirty work such as rebounding and playing defense and his ability to play team basketball. O’Quinn has said he’ll stick true to his roots as a player with the Magic and bring some hustle and muscle to the squad.

``This puts a stamp on everything that I’ve done. For my family to be a part of this, it is a great moment for us,’’ O’Quinn said on draft night of the hard work he’s put into becoming a NBA player. ``I’m an energy guy. I rebound, defend, block shots and compete. As far as going into the NBA, I know that I have to develop my offensive game. But I’m an energy guy first and that’s what I will bring to the Magic.’’

I love this. O'Quinn played great in the summer league and deserves this. He wouldn't back down to anyone and we really need that.
Not changing this Sig until the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)

Kyle played pretty well in the summer league. I think he and Baby could hold that spot down just fine. There aren't that many nights where being a little small at center hurts that bad anymore. The game is being played on the wings more now and I love that. Kyle's little jumper will be a sight for sore eyes and plays right off Drews post game.
