It really is a close call between dr. Drew and JJ. It's easy to give it to Drew because he brought more than what's expected from him right now and he did the damage during the third and fourth quarter. JJ on the other hand made such an impact on the game that everybody else (including Drew) started to play better.
My vote goes to JJ (he sure could have had a lot more assist if Baby finished some of the gimme's)..
Edit: Oh and JJ had a +19 himself..

I'd love to give it to Nicholson but it is impossible not to give it to JJ.
Redick made everybody better last night, he put soo much pressure on the Suns defense that when he passed the ball the entire defense collapsed and we got easy buckets.
This season it's cristal clear, when JJ sucks we're not winning the game.

Imagine if the Magic truly wanted to tank and threw Drew out there for 30+ mpg, dude could win Rookie of the year. I think his defense will come around over his first 2 years in the league.
I really liked it for that brief moment they played BBD and Nicholson together. Depending on the matchups, I think these two would play well together.

I love the Jonathan Clay love, but it surprises me. I expected a blow-out vote for the rookie. But having two players with a strong game is a good thing indeed.

Whereas I do not agree with your central premise that throwing Nicholson out there would improve his stat line, it is key to note that ONLY Andre Drummond has a PER above Drew.
Right now there are four stud rookies: Drummond, Nicholson, Lillard, and Kidd-Gilchrist. When Davis puts in some games-played, the list grows to five. That's it. (As an aside, those five make an interesting team in themselves).

Drummond is very raw, but has incredible potential when I watch him play as I do catch as many Pistons games as I can. He will be very good in 2-3 years. But, Pistons are bringing him along slowly. He is like the opposite of Nicholson because he dominates on defense and is often out of position on offense. Reminds me of Dwight when he was a rookie, but not that good yet.

Respectfully, to clarify, are you projecting the same five rookie studs as I?
