Re: UCF Basketball (14-7): @ Houston
Team is unraveling fast in AAC play. Really needs a win against Memphis at home tomorrow. Depth issues are really coming to the surface in conference play.
Also saw that CBS has Tacko going 27th in their latest mock draft.

Hopefully someone is in his ear and telling him he needs at least another year in college before making the jump. Either way he'll be a project for a team, but the 27th pick isn't worth the risk of slipping into the 2nd round and possibly not making a team. Unless he's promised a 1st round pick he needs to come back. Even with that late 1st promise I would still reject it. With another season he may be able to play his way into the teens if he adds a few feet to his offensive game and puts on a little more weight to that frame.
Tacko is a long term project no matter when/if he goes to the NBA. But it's tough to wait another year and risk injury. Tacko has always said he'd rather be Steve Jobs than Lebron so hopefully that means something.

OT: I find it very peculiar when I'm taking my Objective Oriented programming test and this 7'5' guy just walks up casually to turn in his paper. I'm assuming he wants to get his degree more than maximizing his NBA draft stock judging by his background.
East #1 Draft Picks: Fultz, Banchero, Wiggins, Cuninigham
West #1 Draft Picks: Edwards, WIlliamson, Ayton, Towns

Re: UCF Basketball (14-8): vs Memphis on Saturday
I see him staying one more year. His stats in conference play dropped a good bit.
Also, HUGE win over Memphis tonight. I keep wanting to make a Saturday game to tailgate prior to tipoff but it just hasn't worked out schedule wise for me.

Re: UCF Basketball (15-8): @ Cincinnati (2/8)
It was nice to see tacko get early and effective touches.
No doubt this had impact on the Memphis mindset. Memphis shot just 29% in the first half and 30% for the game.
Team defense was really disciplined as well.
As was said earlier, HUGE win.
Next big test is Cincinnati which is 21-2, 10-0.

Great win vs ECU last night. We're middle of the pack for the conference tourney.

Re: UCF Basketball (18-10): vs Cincinnati
Great game last night for the men. Struggled in the 1st half and gave up a lead going into halftime, but Matt Williams got fire in the early goings of the 2nd and brought us back, and then BJ was hitting clutch shots all over the place.
Dawkins must've had a brain cramp at the end of the game though. Inbounds the ball 3-4 times as Temple is using their fouls to get to the limit. And then once they're finally at the limit he brings in Tacko to receive the inbound, obviously gets fouled and goes to the line (where he misses the one and one, he's a 47% FT shooter this year). Nearly cost UCF the game.
Men are pretty close to a bye as well. If i'm not mistaken, top 5 get a buy in the conference tourney, and right now UCF sits 6th behind Memphis, who has a really tough schedule to close out. They have Cincinnati tonight, with Tulane (easy), Houston and SMU still to come. If Memphis goes 1-3 and UCF wins one of their remaining, we'll get that bye (UCF plays USF next Thursday to close out the regular season).

Re: UCF Basketball (18-10): vs Cincinnati
It was a nice win. In years past I would have fully expected a loss.
Even during the game I was figuring a loss was coming.
The insertion of Tacko at the end was curious at best. Inbounding the ball is something this team has struggled with all year.
Best of luck against Cincinnati, they are solid.

Leaving two guys in an airport is pretty funny.
Except if you are a parent of that player.
BTW- USF has suffered their fourth straight 20-loss season.

Re: UCF Basketball (18-10): vs Cincinnati
Great game, huge win obviously.
Props to the conditioning of the players. Starters played nearly the entire game. I think Chad Brown played 5-6 minutes in the 1st half, same with Tank. Starters in for the entire 2nd half except for a few seconds where Tacko came out while Cincy was intentionally fouling.
AJ and BJ both miss first free throws on one-and-one's, can't believe Cincy missed that game tying lob with a few seconds left, and Tacko makes both FTs down to ice it, haha.

Another great win today. Missed the game as I was at the race.
Kudos go out to the players and coaching staff for the continuance of superb effort while overcoming obstacles.
Well done. This season has exceeded expectations in so many ways.

well he has been able to secure a lot of big money donations lately (relatively speaking anyway). He seems to understand how to get wealthy alums to make donations so hopefully he keeps it up. Hopefully he doesn't overextend!
