Ya... If Ping says it, I inevitably believe the opposite.

Saw a news story today that GOL will be a "consultant" until 2020. Looks like that is what they tacked on as the previously mentioned "extension". He'll get $200k a year to basically be on call for advice, but I think it's something ridiculous like he can't be expected to contribute more than 12 hours of work, rofl.

He wont be consulting. Thats basically a severance package.

Some people dont believe he got forced out early and i truly believe it. He should have quit before the season since his heart was not in it and now its blown in his face.

I think his plan was to retire after this season. I think he wanted out after the Fiesta Bowl, but Hitt convinced him to stick around in hopes that we would get into a P5 conference before he left. I think he agreed to two years + the extension as a consultant to give recruits some ease about committing. So I think he was forced out 4 games early, because I think he wanted to finish out the season but the pressure from losing was mounting and fans and local media were basically demanding that Hitt make a change immediately instead of waiting until the offseason, especially with all the additional AD drama.

But yea, it's not really consulting.

From what I gather it's essentially a delayed bonus.

Lane Kiffin is coming to town?

I've seen rumors of Leavitt. If that happens, I'm done with college football forever :nonono:

42-0 still plenty time left.....

They should just forfeit and save operating costs. Great legacy left behind George.

You mean 4 conference championships, 6 divisional titles, four 10 win seasons, a Fiesta Bowl victory (and 2 other bowl wins), a top 10 finish and a top 25 finish? I agree. Great legacy.

Ugly game yesterday. Actually, the games have been comedic with the total ineptitude.

I watched the whole game yesterday, and can't tell you how many times I had to just shake my head at the Ucf version of "bad news bears football".

This team plays dumb, has very little leadership, and continues to get worse as the year goes on.

Inexplicable regression.

Talent has either given up and/or just isn't there.

Personally, my biggest disappointments are the defensive line and the offense in general.

This team as-is; is quickly becoming historically bad by NCAA standards.

I can't help but laugh at just how bad it's been.

All I care about anymore is who the next AD and coach are and planning the thanksgiving tailgate.

This team has become historically bad, this is really bad and embarrassing. Stuff like this pretty much ends whatever chance they had to get into a top conference. They wont be adding a team what has had 2 win-less seasons in about a 10 year time frame, just wont happen. The respect and reputation that has been built up since the last win-less season is gone, completely tarnished and will take years to overcome.

Good. They need to get an A.D. in place before Thanksgiving, and a coach before the bowl games begin.

Agreed. Naming a coach by or around bowl season will be critical to a recruiting class that is currently very light with both commits and quality.

I think you guys should go after Cristobal, he knows the S Florida area, and has been at Bama since 2013. He'd be good for recruiting, has ties in FL, NJ and ALA.

I think Miami goes after another guy who knows S Florida well and was their D Coordinator before, Greg Schiano.

Cristobal turned down Rutgers. What makes you think he'd go to UCF? Honestly, I just hope he's still not a HC somewhere when we inevitably fire Taggart.

Most feel Cristobal ends up at Miami.

Jeremy Pruitt is the guy UCF should jump on. He won a national title a few years ago as FSU's DC, now hes the DC at Georgia, which looks like a lame duck job with Richt half out the door. He's only 41 and an excellent recruiter, who has been recruiting Florida for years. Perfect fit IMO.

I've read that they are after Schiano, Cristobal, Chudzinski and Stoops(Kentucky). All 4 have been at Miami before, just my opinion, but Schiano is the favorite to get that job.
