Zoran Dragi? rumor: Magic intersted

Lot's of news sites stating that Zoran Dragić could go to Phoenix to play with his brother, but that the Heat, Spurs, Mavericks, and Magic are also in negotiations.

If Orlando tab this 25 year old as a planned SG backup, it would seem to doom Marble. Perhaps the Magic would waive Marble and assign him to the D-league. It also would seem to indicate that Gordon-B is a one year guy and that the planned rotation for SG in 2015/16 could be Oladipo/Dragić/Marble. I think we would all be happy with that as the set SG rotation. Dragić and Marble are both capable for emergeny minutes at SF, to go with Oladipo's limited play at PG.

Dragić fits the goal of versatile players that can assume multiple roles and positions. But in the end, how could he ignore, for example, the Spurs?

Zoran Dragic averaged 10.6 points in 20.3 minutes per game for Unicaja Malaga this past season but he reportedly possesses a strong desire to come to the NBA. He’d have to sign with an NBA team by Oct. 5th, according to Charania, and cover a buyout greater than the equivalent of $971K to break free from Unicaja Malaga this year, as Stein wrote in his report this week. That would appear to give the Spurs and Magic an edge on the Heat and Mavs, since Miami and Dallas can’t exceed the minimum salary and thus can’t give him more than the Excluded International Player Payment Amount of $600K toward his buyout.

at 6'5 ( and i cant find his wingspan) it would have to be real emergency minutes at SF. He would be overpowered there the entire time he played it.

I really don't see him picking us over the Spurs. I would love to have him though. A guard rotation of Oladipo, Payton, Fournier, and Zoran would be awesome, especially as they all grow and improve. I would hate to waive Marble for him, but if we can work out a D-League contract with Marble then it wouldn't be so bad, especially since I think he'll probably spend a good deal of time with the D-League this season anyways. I would rather drop Willie Green though, he would get absolutely zero playing time if Zoran joined the team.

To be honest I skimmed over the Z in Zoran and thought we were in the running to get Goran. I didn't know how but I was very excited. Still wouldn't be a bad pickup on the cheap.

I thought Marble's first year was guaranteed? If we were able to sign Z, I think the options would be to waive Dedmon or Greene.

This would be a pretty nice pickup. If we're trying to win games next year we need all the shooting we can get at this point. Actually, we need all the offensive talent we can get period

Thought the same as well. Nevertheless, someone could be relegated to the D-league to make room for him.

He should sign with the Spurs though.

Why not just stick with marble? Seems like an uneccessary signing.
