No more "we will", the motto for the upcoming season is "Pure Magic"

I dislike it. Also...

Matthew Broffman of Bungalower reports the Magic will be installing a 6.5-feet-tall, 28-feet-wide spelling of Magic without the ‘i’ starting at Lake Eola next week. The idea is to have fans stand in place of the ‘i’ and post on social media for the chance to win prizes and interact with Magic media personalities.

It is an interesting idea.

The statue will be at Lake Eola Park from September 24 to October 25 and then will move to Wall Street for October 28 before moving to the Amway Center plaza for the rest of the season. There will be plenty of opportunities to snap a photo of this new publicity vehicle.

It has been awhile since the Magic nailed a solid PR campaign to reach out to fans. At the end of the day, wins is what will ultimately drum up fan support.

Yea, not a fan of "Pure Magic", seems too kiddy and reminds me of Disney, which maybe the Magic want. :shrug:

The statue idea is solid.

I like it. Sounds much better than "We Will" which is really vague and generic.

Well, at least it is a step up from,"We Will Suck" . . .

I sure hope it isn't a slogan for "Has to be Pure Magic to suck this bad."

Wow, that's terrible. I was never a fan of "We Will" either, but I really hate "Pure Magic". Actually I think these corny slogans are really lame to begin with, but they really couldn't think of anything better than that?

I like it. I mean, at least as far as NBA team marketing slogans go...

I think the most head-scratching slogan we ever had was 'Code Blue', used during the '07 Playoffs. 'Code Blue' is a hospital emergency code that is used to indicate a patient is in need of resuscitation or immediate medical attention. Of course, the Magic faced the mighty Pistons in the first round that year and were thoroughly blown out to nobody's surprise. Actually, I guess 'Code Blue' was our most honest slogan ever.
